| Furlong on 20:36 - Dec 29 with 1857 views | Swansea_Blue | I’ve been critical of Furlong when we’re on the ball, but that was a defensive masterclass. Mason-Clark was lucky to stay on the pitch. He had no interest in playing football and it was so pleasing to see Furlong own him. | |

He is a defender so defend first and is pretty good at that.

Chris Makin a proper full back

Was it Mason-Clark he had in his pocket in the home game as well? I remember one of their forwards having a couple of run ins with Furlong then as well and coming off 2nd best each time. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

One of the reasons we got relegated under GB. Not because he was bad, but because of what Wilnis's absence removed from the team.

I’m not sure, which is worrying as it was only 3 weeks ago

Losing Makin to injury most of his time during the Royle years also cost points I think. Matt Richards just wasn't up to it.

Likewise and I maintain he’s not very well suited at all to a team that dominates the ball like us. There is no denying though, at this level, defensively he’s one of the best around and was excellent tonight.

I'm sure we were playing Makin there though in that period when he was fit. Wilnis on the right, Makin left.

Makin definitely played left back for us a lot.

| Furlong on 22:45 - Dec 29 with 800 views | BlueForYou | After that dreadful home game against Charlton, our defence was in tatters. A complete mess. Loads of cries of “sort it out McKenna”. Well give him some credit, he has sorted it out. Furlong & Kipre have been great, & today seeing Greaves having a solid game too was very satisfying. | | | |

He played a lot at rb. Some sort of falling out between Wilnis and GB was the rumour at the time. We had Herman...
