An old work colleague who I stayed in contact with and is a Leicester fan, was told we're in discussion with Leicester about taking Harry Winks onloan.
Now my colleague doesn't claim that he's ITK, so as he said it could be a load of b@lloks. Winks has apparently fallen out with the manager and his contract is up for renewal next year. Could also be people putting 2&2 together and making 5 based purely on his out of favour situation and us possibly requiring a defensive midfielder as cover for Matusiwa. |  | | |

I think realistically just a quality CM and CF to improve the spine would be enough.
I think Greaves has shown we don't need another squad place taken with a backup LB and I don't think we need another RW like some suggest unless he's of incredible quality - Egeli/Burns/McAteer will come good.
I think the 10 is probably OK with Nunez and hopefully Egeli, I think another top quality CM is a higher priority than the 10 and would prefer we spent big in that area. Someone like Louza or another quality signing from abroad like Azor.
Pearce Charles at Wednesday looks a quality ball-playing keeper but I don't think we really need to change Walton and Palmer.

That’s pretty much how I see it too Stokie. A goal scoring CF would be great - though no idea who. But it wouldn’t surprise me if we fail to land one, and it may not be the end of the world, because scoring goals actually been a big problem has it, given that we’re 2 scorers in the Championship!
The big posit for me is centre midfield. Taylor has done brilliantly, but I suspect is near his ceiling and we really would benefit from having someone who can fully share Azors workload.
I’ve never been convinced by Jens. He’s a lovely player to watch, but lacks end product. I can see why KM got him back, but he just hasn’t kicked on as he should have done in this league. |  |

Mcateer definitely doesn't have a higher ceiling than Winks. Winks at his prime got himself a regular spot in the England side and was worth €40 million. That isn't happening with Mcateer as much as I hope he comes good.
Do think Mcateer can learn from Burns. Ideal person to learn from as they have similar attributes. Burns just knows how to use them! | |
