| Super fans? 15:51 - Jan 8 with 1619 views | Illinoisblue | Who’s in the running for super fan and hasn’t missed a game for years and years? With Covid craziness - did we play a home game v Pompey where only 2k fans were allowed in? - smaller L1 allocations and now points system and general ticket frenzy the last couple years…. Anyone got an unbroken streak of away and home games? | |

| Super fans? on 15:54 - Jan 8 with 1293 views | ITFC_Forever | There were two games in the Covid season fans could go to, Portsmouth on the Saturday and then Burton (I think) the following midweek. If you got tickets for one, you were excluded from getting tickets for the other - you had to choose one or the other. | |

....the Burton match. Sat in the back row of Churchman's upper. It was miserable.

Sounds like he’s single, no kids and still lives with his parents. Probably has a really big annoying rattle and wears a ridiculous big rosette,

A guy called Phil Essex is way further than that I think, obviously Covid games discounted, fairly IMO. I personally haven't missed a game since Cheltenham on Easter Monday 2023 (foggy Oxford one before that) and as sad as it is I don’t want to break the streak

I know him. Every time we score he turns round and sings "where was the goalie?". Every time. He's got a very long name, bit I like to call him Ted. Know him?

| Super fans? on 16:08 - Jan 8 with 1168 views | cressi | I'm no super fan in that respect I used to love been able to go to 4 or 5 away games a season. Having a season ticket I get all the home games. I accepted I wouldn't get away tickets as I don't go often enough through choice as I like doing other things occasionally. All the best to everyone who gives up all their weekends. | | | |

Yeah - I know someone who called him Browny instead of Ted - never seen anyone so angry in all of my life.

I went to that one too - Block G of the middle tier of the Pioneer Stand. Cold, dank and miserable - and we won 2-1.

Same here, was towards to the front in upper though. The landlord in the Plough let us have an extra pint with our substantial meal though by leaving the plates on the table with a lone chip on Stupid times.

Bar covid closed doors stuff, his record remains unblemished as I understand it. Every game without fail.

Phil's record goes back quite some way into the last century if my memory serves me well . . . . I am always amazed at the fans who achieve this kind of dedication.

Love the fact that he was referred to on here as Phil Essex, the BBC article references Phil Taylor, and some of us would have known him originally by another surname.

I thought Phil missed one game, some time after he made the 1000, but may be wrong (sorry, Phil, if I am). He remains ridiculously loyal though. One other, lurker not poster, is on around 20 years (bar a very, very few pre-seasons), so that must be around 1000, based on 50 games a year.
