Inspired by a comment by Clive Baker another thread who are the players that by signing in an FM game become heroes of villains for you?

In a game years ago I signed young player from Man U initial on loan and them permanently who led Ipswich too many league and European trophies ..... Paul Scholes

He was aided by the younger Bournemouth CB Eddie Howe

Those are the 2 who stand out for me

Darwin Quintero from Santos Laguna. Signed for about £1m in the Championship and helped us establish as a top 4 PL side. He was eventually replaced be Sergio Aguero I believe.

Christian Rodriguez on FM08, king among men.

I've just won the Premier League on FM26 having won the Champions League last season and of the current squad Jaden Philogene still makes the odd appearance. Stuttgart midfielder Chema Andres my captain and standout player.

Leif Davis in the current version has to be up there! Excellent ratings in both the Champ and the Prem.

I remember signing Adriano on a save years ago (When he was touted as the next big thing) and he scored over 50 goals in a season. Never seen anything like it.

My first season in the Prem, I managed to sign Henderson in goal as Palace went down, Guehi on a free, Radu Dragusin loan to buy, Dominic Solanke, Lloyd Kelly, Rolando Mandragora, Harvey Barnes, Teon Koopmeiners, Reuben Loftus Cheek and Jao Mario. Finished 7th, three points off of 3rd with a better goal difference, so was 1 win away from the champions league in my first season.

Seems just a little bit unrealistic doesn't it.....

I ended up selling Philogene for some absurd amount to a Saudi club who released him like two years later.

In fact, Saudi clubs love buying my average players.

That said, Greaves and Davis still play games for me and do well.

This year though, Amara Diouf was an absolute steal for me. £500k for a player who has done really well (especially in the CL) and can play AML, AMR and AMC.

There was a time (Champ Man 01/02 maybe) when you could raid the Nordic U21's (and U19's to a lesser extent) for peanuts and they would generally turn in to top players.

Kim Kallstrom
Mads Jorgensen

There were plenty of others.

Special mention also to Mark Kerr (Falkirk I think) who some unknown reason always had the most ridiculous stats and was one of the best young players to buy in the same game.

I flogged both Greaves and O'Shea to Saudi on promotion and was less happy to do the same with Leif the following year.

I think mine are probably from 97/98 when it was still Championship Manager.

Tommy Svindal Larsson - Was one of those Scandi legends.

Sam Winston.

Mark Kerr was fantastic.

Obvious mention goes to Maxim Tsigalko who was just obscene.

In like FM 16 or something I signed Teemu Pukki and he became my top scorer for three or four seasons and scored over 30 in the season I won the PL.

So it really pissed me off when he signed for and subsequently scored loads for Norwich in real life as I felt he'd betrayed me personally.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Julias Aghahowa knew where the net was, great pick up off Shakhtar. I was buzzing when he signed for Wigan IRL, very much ruined the illusion when I saw him play though.

Ebbe Sand absolutely banged goals for me.

Also in the early days when you could go in an amned retired players I made Maradona 16 and in the youth team took a bit of time for his promise to shine through but my word once it did.

Taribo West but he always had an attitude problem

Julius Aghahowa, class

Back in the glory days of Championship Manager '95-6, I led a barnstorming Barnet to successive promotions and an FA Cup, all led by a killer forward line of the legendary... ...Sean Devine..., with the everpresent rock solid... ...Mark Grugel... in midfield...

Fun Fact - Towen was the only club the dratted game wouldn't allow me to pick as manager!

I had CSFM - Coronation Street Football Manager - my star player was Eileen Derbyshire - 30 goals, 10 assists in the season when we beat Emmerdale to the title on goal difference.

Neil Gregory led the line for me in all four divisions as I took Bury from the fourth tier to PL glory.
What a player!

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
