Seems low even if Bristol only brought 400 fans.

There is absolutely no way in this world we had 4,000 spare seats last night. I could see pockets of 2s and 3s in Sir Alf upper and obviously around 1,700 empty in away end but I have no clue who's in charge of the final figure.

It's been like this all season. From the naked eye it always seems a minimum 29,000 are there then all of sudden attendance is announced at 27,000 something. It's really strange.

It is the price of tickets, plain and simple. Much more expensive than 2 years ago even accounting for inflation. Club could probably do with lowering it or freezing it for a couple of seasons.

This thread shows that the human brain will always find something to moan about! I guess it's in our DNA.

It's never just 'oh look, some fans didn't turn up on a cold Tuesday evening tv game'. It's 'the club are deluded if they think any more fans are ever going to watch them, and they charge ridiculous prices, and they screwed over fans completely, and our fans are rubbish'. Blimey. Go back what, 5 years max and tell a fan that we'd be moaning about getting 25.5k attendances whilst sitting 2nd after just coming down from the premier League with a squad valued at £100 million plus a new training ground on the way and the best manager we've had in a generation.

It’s a forum to discuss all matters related to the club. There have been plenty of threads in the past few years about ticketing systems, re-sale, capacity etc. 4,000 empty seats when the club are looking at investing a fortune in increasing the capacity is worthy of discussion especially as our track record of doing so is so closely linked to a huge slump in on field success.

And there are some fans that kicked off when Ashton talked about introducing a use it or lose it system.

They kicked off because the communication was crap. Very few people disagree with the actual principle.

My grandson was in the upper Pioneer stand last night and he said the top 3 rows from the family zone to block M (which is almost Half way line) didn't have a single person in, and only a few in the next 2 rows. Said he hasn't seen that area that empty since L1 days.

Best atmosphere of the season too, Norwich aside

I thought it was poor to be honest. It looks worse when you consider that members could bring someone with them for £15 last night too.

Frustrating when you know full well that if we get promoted then tickets will be like rocking horse poo again next season.

I noticed there was loads last night still available on the website at 7pm.

Also, plenty of tickets in block M against PNE on the 30th January. But like last night, all the seats available are restricted views at best.

I just think many people are preferring unrestricted views (which they were plenty last night going by the website) before opting for the restricted ones.

It was a little disheartening but let's not overreact.

Our current average of 28.2K would be the third highest in the club's history if that's where it finished.

As the season reaches its climax some home games will sell out so that figure will likely rise.

The highest ever average attendance of 29.7K was only last season breaking the record set the previous year.

All in all, it's a mark of just how far the club has come that 25.5K feels a bit on the small side.

6,000 waiting for a season ticket don't forget

It’s cheaper to get a season ticket than pay matchday prices every week. P many people can’t afford 38 quid to see every home game. Do you really think West Ham for example would fill the ground without cheap season tickets, football is an expensive hobby.

Not sure why people make chippy comments like that when our crowds are about double what they were a few years ago, and bigger than clubs like Leicester that have recently won top trophies.

Go back to the sad days of Marcus Evans and you would be looking at half the 25,500.
I think you will find that like myself, although more a follower than a supporter of Town now that many are pretty short of the readies in January and I think this will show when the figures for January come out.

Sadly due to health and also not being a regular now at PR I dont go to games. But in defence of the club they have tried hard to keep ticket prices down. I remember going to PR quite a number of years ago and paying £32 to sit in the upper tier Sir Bobby stand.
I would suggest that many of Towns players are on mid to high £20,000 a week, maybe more and then you have the up keep post the Evans era where painting the turnstiles was a major upgrade. Of course you then have staff other than players. KM apparently on £3 million a year, a CEO and old Uncle Tom Cobbley and all. Lighting, heating etc, etc.
Plus the usual bandwagon of supporters wanting new players through the doors of PR both closed season and January window.
And January never being a month where those with shallow pockets have much if anything to spare.

Bristol City only sold a quarter of their allocation.
We've had two home games in four days.
It's the end of January and most people are waiting for pay-day.
It was cold.
It was Bristol City.

Edit Yes, I was there!

Actually I went to see Ilkley Town lose at home to Leeds UFCA in the North East Counties League Division One. A midweek home game at Portman Road is half a day off work and not getting home till 2am (if I’m lucky with road closures) and so I rarely go to them - even last season! But continue to ‘bash’ people who for whatever reason couldn’t go last night.
