Missed a sitter at the end, Thomas is too good for Stoke though.

Problem with Boro is that now they see their 2 biggest rivals in NUFC and SAFC thriving in the prem. They are using that as a motivational catalyst to try and get back to the prem urgently to ensure they are not left behind by those 2

Didn't really work for us when Norwich were in the Prem and we were in league 1!

Makes it even worse wanting that result ‘cos we get to watch it haha.

I don’t know why but I have a feeling Coventry bottle it further down the line.

19 straight wins and there is nothing Boro can do, a nice run like we had in our promotion year from League 1 will do

I do wish they hadn't signed that palace lad tho, he looks very handy for a side who spent most of the season attacking.

I dont think cov will lose many, but there are draws there i think.

Chuffing Boro. They're not going to keep this up though. I don't think we need to worry about them and just keep our own winning run going. Look after the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves. Still think the sensible money is we not only go up but also win the league.

Yeah I still think we will win the league. I think maybe it's us and Boro top two. Coventry feel a little more wobbly.

Leeds and Darlington closest rivals. They are Yorkshire not north east

Yes agreed. And it's partly because of who were up against. It's definitely better were competing with Boro and Coventry for these spots than other Megabucks teams in Leicester, Southampton and Sheff Utd. (Although in an ideal world I'd of course like a repeat of 23/24 with Leicester and Ipswich both taking the autos).

I think Boro and Coventry will be more worried about Ipswich than vice versa and cross that one of the parachute teams got their house in order.

Regardless of where you class Middlesbrough in the country I'm pretty sure EVERY Boro fan would consider their main rivals the other north east teams. With Hull in a distant 3rd. Leeds won't even register.

Id suggest the difference between us going up and not, is getting in a striker who can score goals regularly, again.

You say "again" - we didn't have that when we got promoted in 23-24, and while Ladapo got 17 in 22-23 he was outscored by Chaplin. It was Chaplin who was our top scorer in the two promotion seasons, playing in the number 10 role.

The role of our centre forward is not to score goals as much as to create space and occupy the defence to allow others to score - this season Clarke and Philogene are reaping the benefits.

If we were struggling for goals or were leaking goals at the back I would agree more - but we are not, we have the best defence and the second best attack based on goals scored - changing the style of centre forward we have now coul disrupt the way we play.

Not to mention, the last time our centre forward was our top scorer, we got relegated (yes, that is tongue in cheek).

Hey, it's even easier than that, only need 18 wins if one of them is Boro and another is Hull.

The top sides are all going to lose matches between now and the end of the season. We just have to make sure that we lose less than the others which we probably will with the size and quality of squad we have.

Long way to go still.

They are picking up results if not necessarily playing too well from what I've seen of their last 2 games.

They've got momentum, confidence and good players to be fair, think they will be competition right until the end.

Shame we played them when we were a bit iffy. Taking a point there would have seen us sitting above them now with a game in hand. Very fine margins!
