If Starmer even THINKS about going back to normal relations with Trump after his non-apology about the UK troops, and the sickening, disgusting, downright evil events in Minneapolis today, he can get to feck.

From the footage seen it looks like the executed was stepping in to help a woman who was being manhandled by the Trumpstapo, he was then pepper sprayed not once but TWICE, they all jumped on him, beat him, and then the shots were fired.

He was a nurse.

According to the police chief, the worst thing this guy did was to receive parking tickets.

There's also footage from someone driving past just prior to the shooting and the offensive weapon he is brandishing at that point is a phone.

And even if he did had a gun on him, the photo of a gun that's going around seems mighty clean for being on someone who has been shot multiple times

Enough.

Anyone who provides support be it at government level, all the way down to folk on message boards and social media, to that punt in the White House from this country are as despicable, amoral, inadequate, scared, insecure, pathetic as he is.

I have seen a video which I cannot link to. They murdered him on Trump's orders/with his blessing. Command responsibility = Trump is a murderer.
This is not easy to watch.
Edit.

It’s escalating. State troops now deployed to protect Americans from the Government

And when shot, there is video proof he was unarmed.

Yet Miller calls him an assassin

Don’t call them fascists though.

The worrying thing is how far will they go. If they can do this now, what’s going to happen if Trump gets desperate if the mid-terms don’t go well or can’t be easily cooked?

It's a crowded field but Stephen Miller might be the individual I dislike the most in this administration. He is so utterly vile and devoid of humanity.

There's further footage from another angle.

The sequence of events seem to be

1. ICE shoving a woman around.
2.Victim steps up to help her
3. His final words are "Are you OK?
4. ICE start manhandling him, pepper spraying him at point blank range at least twice.
5. Wrestled to the ground with four or five ICE on top of him.
6. Another ICE in a grey coat comes over. He has no weapon in his hand. He reaches over the melee as if he's trying to grab something.
7. About a second before the first shot is heard, he turns away and heads away. BUT he now has a weapon in his hand. At no point when he's reaching over does he seem to make any movement consistent with himself drawing a weapon.

So whilst it seems the victim may well have been carrying:

a. He had a licence to do so under Minnesota law.
b. He clearly wasn't brandishing it himself before they all jumped on him.
c. He had a load of ICE on top of him. And he'd been pepper sprayed 30 seconds before. How was he going to reach his weapon, let alone aim and shoot.

But then....

Someone has slowed that footage down and spotted something else.

Look at how Greycoat moves off before anyone else. It must be before the shot as he's had time to turn around and start moving. Nobody else has reacted.

The complete footage is in the Bluesky link. Look carefully at the street between Greycoats legs. There's what seems to be a black hat there.

Note how the hat moves at the exact moment of the first shot. Note how at the exact same moment the gun is pointing directly at the hat.

Seemingly, whether accidentally, or on purpose to frame them, Greycoat fired into the ground with the victims gun, and then the others panicked, and opened fire.

The more you hear about the victim, the more your heart breaks.

Not only was he a nurse, he was a nurse at the veterans hospital.

There really needs to be a serious discussion about boycotting the World Cup. What is happening over there is infinitely more important than a football tournament.

Sickening. Would be enough to finally get me off X if it weren’t for the fact that there’s a *lot* of pushback against this & the other blatant lies being posted by T.rump & his equally vile staff, including through the many Community Notes (which I’ve rated as helpful) pointing out the actual facts as verified by multiple independent witnesses who both filmed the events live, and researched the victim’s history to prove that he was a harmless US citizen licensed to carry the sidearm which was on him but which he didn’t use.

Don’t you think going for Starmer on this is a bit weird.

You’re responding to news that a US federal agency has shot a nurse to death in the street.

Watch out, you'll have someone equating that with the suspension of the Council elections here. Because they're obviously exactly the same.

Lie and provoke. It’s a consistent pattern for them at home and abroad. It’s manipulation of their support and opposition in one fell swoop.

Minnesota governor Tim Walz has called in their national guard. I assume Trump's next step will be to invoke the Insurrection Act (which he has been craving). The possibilities of where this all leads are pretty terrifying. Civil War? A decade or two ago that would have seemed like ridiculous hyperbole. Not any more.

Pam Bondi, the AG, has sent a letter saying ICE will step back if the state hand over their voter rolls.

Again, this is never about immigration but control and suppression of democracy and Trump’s control of a swing state

He is the architect of most of this, on behalf of the Project 2025 group.

Trump is merely their vehicle to get it done.

To be fair, I also missed that the OP did frame this in the context of whether Starmer cuts ties with the Trump administration (or words to that effect), so in Benters' defence it wasn't a total non sequitor, but the thrust of the thread has obviously focused on the events themselves rather than the original point about a response from Starmer. So it was easy to think it came out of nowhere, which is exactly what I thought when I posted upthread.
