| Coventry have been bang average since the start of December 22:12 - Jan 26 with 4369 views | Dubtractor | 4 wins, 3 draws, 4 defeats. 0 wins in 6 away games. Only 12 goals scored in 11 games. Even allowing for our patchy away form we have 8 more points than them over the same period. It's more than just a small wobble from them over that period of time, they may well get themselves back on track, but they are miles off the free scoring winning team they were earlier in the season. | |

Still got Boro to come to PR and they play each other in a few weeks at Cov. Plenty of time to overtake them if we can take care of our own business.

If we win sat and our game in hand we could even be just 2 points behind cov
| Coventry have been bang average since the start of December on 22:27 - Jan 26 with 3269 views | Vaughan8 | I said a few months back that they weren't playing like a team that far ahead. I guess its only just coming home to roost now. Go on the brom! (n/t) by Vaughan8 22 Nov 2025 14:52Oh yeah.i know.
I'm not sayong they won't go up. Just I've seen a few of their games and they don't look overly good.
They've had 3 teams get sent off against them now.
As with us 2 seasona ago, I'm sure more and more teams will suss how to play them.so.theyll need to keep tweaking their system. My spelling is appalling but you get the point! At the start they were romping to victories but since then have been not so great. Still picking up results of course. [Post edited 26 Jan 22:28]

All teams have a bad patch, would be incredible if they don't go up given the start they have had and not a bad transfer window too.

| Coventry have been bang average since the start of December on 06:58 - Jan 27 with 2819 views | Nutkins_Return | That's true though they did have quite a few injuries and disruptions with squad. They have added well in areas they needed depth so on paper they look much stronger then 3 weeks ago. Hard to know what they will do from here. I still think they will get over the line but last night just keeps us in it! Feb is key to turn our away form around which is pretty poor. | |

Agree with all of that. Their season could continue stumbling from here, or they could motor like we did after our iffy December and January in 23/24. Time will tell. And I'm of the view that February could make or break our season. If we end the month similarly placed to now, in terms of points gap to Coventry and Boro, then I'll be pretty happy. We do need to get some consistency away from home though!

I'm inclined to agree with your point on February. Our away form is the last piece of the puzzle that requires solving. If we get that monkey off our backs, then I have all confidence we go on to win the league. If not, we're in for the angsty roller coaster ride that is the playoffs! We really need to beat Portsmouth and Derby, to kick that away run of games off with a shot of confidence, as the following few are a step up! The first 2 are totally winnable games too, so hopefully this is the case, but we are just so unpredictable away! I'm sure McKenna has the answers. Let's hope that the end of the transfer window and injuries/suspensions are kind to us and allow him to get those answers transferred onto the pitch!

| Coventry have been bang average since the start of December on 10:56 - Jan 27 with 2107 views | RetroBlue | For me, Coventry have always been vastly overrated. They rely mostly, on set pieces and breakaway goals. They're slow at the back and whenever ive watched them to see what all the fuss is about, they often had secured wins almost against the run of overall play and frequently against 10men teams? I know we struggled in the PL, but Coventry will definitely be canon fodder if they're promoted, and im not entirely sure they will be promoted. I think itll be us and Boro | |

Whilst I would obviously like to swap places in the table with them, I'd rather have our momentum right now (as long as we limit the number of brain farts like last Saturday): https://www.twtd.co.uk/league- (their away form is worse than ours, which is saying something!) Substitute the word 'Coventry' for 'Ipswich' and pretty much the same was said about us in 23/24! Breakaway goals, jammy added on time winners, slow at the back, etc. I don't think they're a fluke given they wracked up 51 points in half a season, but they've definitely dropped off. I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped out of the top 2, but I also wouldn't be confident enough to put money on it. They could easily re-focus and push on again once all the transfer disruption is out of the way.

We only 2 points behind and boro have to play them too ..Lampard is a smug git and seeing him pump fist the last win was cringe he will be found out

Agree, I wouldn't put money on it either, they have the points in the bag and that counts, They must be under pressure boro are breathing down there necks, If boro can beat Norwich they will leap frog them in the next two weeks then we will see what there made of, But we need our away form sorted or it will be to no avail anyway, Predicted us and saints to go up so one out of two isn't bad,

Absolutely it's not a fluke, they are a decent team having an extended wobble, but there will be a lot of nervous Coventry fans right now!

Although apart from Leeds away, we were drawing games rather than losing them (December through to end of January)

i wouldn't go that far, they could easily turn their form around (similarly boro could just as easily crash), but it's looking a LOT better for us right now!

I think teams have worked out how to stop them scoring, without goals it is tricky to win games!

Their home form during the dodgy run was their saving grace. If that has now deserted them than they are done imo. Confidence completely shattered.
