All rather odd. esp after talking up mcateer and egeli, and we have burns
we then have mehmeti and nunez for the 10, neil, taylor, cajuste etc for cm next to azor. I just can't see why sammy moving would mean we need a winger.

We tend to forget Akpom is here.
Hopefully he’ll get a proper run of games now because I think he’s been woefully misused by KM so far, which is odd considering KM obviously knew what he could bring to the team and clearly wanted him in the summer. |  |

I would expect the club would say we’ve received x amount as proof that it has worked.
I don’t expect every deal to be a success but last year whilst the prem is hard the players we got in failed for what they were bought in for. That can happen of course but when you have a 16 million pound defender on the bench, a guy on loan who’s not fit for purpose in the championship.
Whether it’s ego or not we seem to want to spend big money on players and whilst that’s good and you do need to, we need to find players at cheaper rates (easier said than done of course).
This year has been a mis mash, I’m not overly bothered on the striker, I wanted one but let’s get on with it. |  | | |

I think he started at a disadvantage having had little or no pre-season, if I remember rightly, then hasn't played an awful lot. Bit of a Catch-22, difficult to get to form without playing regularly, difficult to win a regular spot if not playing well.
Has never looked like getting to grips with the number 10 role and Kieran has latterly looked at him more as a nine, which I think may work better both for him and the team. | | | |

i just think if he gets a run there, he'd be this seasons version of last seasons delap, where he bulldozes his way to goals.
He won't be a hirst type, i think personally we've moved on from that requirement, it's having someone to bully the cbs, rough em up and get shots off. I think with Akpom once he has a run in that position, we'd start seeing that. But it can't be every other game, needs a run imo | |

Makes the constant reliance on young Egeli all the more baffling.
He’s still getting regular game time despite failing to deliver anything that remotely merits it.
Same can be said for Hirst who’s performances are now resembling a cry for help.
Hopefully Akpom will get his chance now, especially as we were incapable of bringing in any striker during the last 4 weeks. | |
