That was certainly the wrong decision. A ball to his right and that’s likely 2-0. But his no alone. There have been a couple of bad decisions/badly executed balls when we could have been away. It’s frustrating as hell because it’s happening a lot. |  |

Don't think he's done too badly really, getting knocked around a lot and in fairness to him it's a bit hard to tell what the ref is going to give as a foul or not.
Definitely guilty of being tunnel-visioned at the end there, though he's not the only one to have made the wrong decision in a promising position. |  |

Yeah he's done well on the whole when the ball's come into him and has made some good spins into the channels.
Unfortunately quite a few of our fans are desperate to get on our players' backs this season so will take one mistake as a summation of their game and hammer them for it. | |

Indeed. Really cant blame him for not holding the ball up solo when the rest of the team have dropped off the pace badly for twenty minutes and are not supporting or providing decent service. | |

He wouldn't start for most sides in the league. He's starting because our other options aren't great either.

I wonder if those who were there (like me) had a better impression of Azon's performance than those who watched on TV.
He laid of the ball first time on a number of occasion, and added to the speed of our attack, sometimes getting to balls that it didn't look like he had a chance of.
As the game went on, and Derby came more into it, he got rather isolated and was left to challenging for balls lofted in the air which he really had no chance for.
I think it was two chances he had, but when I looked at the BBC website at half-time our xG was 0.06, so it suggests we didn't create any big chances in the first half.
Anyway, like Hurst who came on, his rating on TWTD is way below any other player, when I thought he was a much a part of our good bits as anyone. But I suppose there always has to be an escape goat or two.
And I am sure McKenna was more than happy with his performance, because he put his arm round him when he was substituted. [Post edited 8 Feb 10:02]

Baby Pablo is a very tidy player who isn’t a goal scorer, if he was a 12 a season man he wouldn’t be here. He’s good at holding it up occupying centr halves laying it off and putting himself about. That is almost entirely what McK wants from a forward. I believe he sees a 9 as primarily a defensive player whose job is to press and hold the ball up. |  |
