Absolutely pathetic. Plenty of us didn’t join in obviously but you just know the whole ‘don’t bring politics into football’ crowd were the ones singing it.
A great trip. That was the only complaint.
Hotdog 8/10 for those wondering. Shoutout Sitters for sorting the ticket 🤝l

Don't talk wet Mutters, literally no one's voices were 'suppressed', hence the thread. The treat about free speech is that Rommers gets to voice his dissatisfaction too.
Instant ban for using literally and hence in the same sentence.
Up and mainly down, following Town since 88

The ironic thing is, if you challenge the sort of people who chant that as to why they don't like Kier Starmer, they can barely give you answer. Mumble something about boats and whatever else far-right disinformation they've gobbled up on Twitter that week. Not a critical faculty between them.

That’s only half of the country that doesn’t like Keir Starmer. The other half are perfectly able to articulate their concerns. He’s probably the least popular guy in Britain since Jimmy Saville! Oh, hang on. Make that 4th least popular after Jimmy Saville, ex-Prince ‘but still really’ Andrew and Boris Tw*tson. I almost feel sorry for him.

Starmer will be the least popular of those four with the type that chant about him at the football.

The irony here.
We will add “irony” to the long list of things you don’t understand.

If they had sung 'Donald Trump is a w@nk3r" instead, would that be acceptable? Whatabout Boris? Or even other figures of hate?
It's not a great look, but people's voices shouldn't be suppressed. Personally, I agree to keep politics and the like out of sport, but it's probably one of the few occasions that people group together these dats, and whether you agree or not there is a lot of anger towards the PM at the moment.
I think you raise some very good points. I find 98% of politicians utterly detestable everywhere. Bringing politics of any sort, whether that's party politics or identity politics into sport just tarnishes the escapism and camaraderie we enjoy on the terraces.
But, we're entering very dangerous territory if we ban free speech, and as you say, there are increasingly fewer places where people can express themselves in public.
If the majority (and I'm in that group) don't want to hear politics at football matches, then drown it out with "we've got Kieran McKenna".

Perhaps it’s indicative of how many outside of your woke leftie bubble are actually thinking? I personally think it’s great that Ipswich fans are voicing their contempt for him on live TV just like people at the darts do too.

It wouldn’t have been a chant at Pride Park if they hadn’t heard it at the 🎯.

My ‘woke leftie bubble’ would’ve been equally as despondent if we’d have chanted anything at any of the previous prime ministers in recent memory. Because.. ya know.. it’s a football game. And they’re not there. And it’s a football game.
