Because you have never stepped in the ring.

Keir didn’t like that. No one likes being called a coward.

Ed Davey as well sticking the boot in. I reckon he would kick the sh@t out of Keir if they did get in the ring

Please go Starmer

Who would you have replace him?

Or is it an election you want for Farage, who you definitely, definitely don't support?

Like him or not, he has had a rather successful career within law and politics.

I haven’t agreed with many things which he has presided over and I do think he should go. But, by becoming Labour leader, by becoming PM and by virtue of his legal career alone, he has stepped into many theoretical boxing rings and won. The man is no coward.

If you ever take off your one-dimensional prick glasses you might well be able to see that as well.

If we’re ranking them all for how hard they are, reckon Nige is coming bottom of that list as well. Liz Roberts’d take them all.

I don’t think Farage could fight his way out of a paper bag

Mind you he did survive quite a bad plane crash.

That’s the problem the Labour Party is so full of incompetent clowns I don’t think there is a stand out replacement

The Election will come in time and regardless of who I vote for if Starmer is still in charge of the Labour Party they certainly wont be winning it

I listened to PMQs and did not think that Starmer's angry response to some of the questions was a good look given what those questions related to. Indeed, he even got a rebuke from the Speaker.

The new look Starmer is to supposed to be a bit more passionate but I think there is a time for anger and this was not it, and not for the usual knock-about nature of PMQs. But I suppose he doesn't really have any alternative.

Starmer has a point regarding Ed Davey and the Liberal Democrat's complicity in the failed austerity experiment. I haven't watched the exchanges yet but I suspect over half the electorate have good reason to be angry at the Janus nature of the post Menzies Campbell party.

Badenoch was focusing on his various U-turns once in office but if we focus on the two things you mention, the problem for me, as a former Labour member, is that he has knocked out the Labour Party.

None more than me because I opposed austerity from the outset, but I just didn't think today was the time to go on that particular attack especially as I can't remember Starmer using this line of attack before.

Incidentally, I cancelled my subscription to the Guardian because it supported a LibDem vote in 2010, and got a handwritten letter from Alan Rushbridger in response which was nice although it didn't persuade me to reconsider.

The Guardian and I have had an on-off relationship over the years but it is has been on for a few years.

He's taken on the top job in the country.
I'd certainly put that as more courageous than your now-and-again posts on a Championship football forum.

My suggestion Mr Flashing stay on the football page if you don’t want to read any non football posts

Or, if Starmer is replaced by Angela Rayner or suchlike, unless the public actually prefer the idea of paying more tax to fund better public services.

The problem is the people that pay less tax generally will use the public services more not my opinion but proven by statistics

Example the NHS - Take high earners for example they pay more tax but more than likely will also have private health care so are unlikely to be a drain on the NHS

Nigel likes to drink in the pub next to my work and you can ALWAYS tell when he's in, because the whole place is filled with people who look like extras from Peaky Blinders.

You might beat Nige in a fight, but I strongly suspect there are plenty of gakked up flunkies who'd put the knife in for him (literally)

No, the problem is a historically significant inequality, exemplified by billionaires being granted Golden Visas to move wherever they can pay least tax, while corporations like Amazon would want us all to believe that their sales in the UK should be taxed via their Head Office in Luxembourg.

And on the other side of the coin: the "contracting out" fetish which has led to everything from prisons to hospital car parks being run for profit, at taxpayers expense.

The growth in inequality in the UK, where we have followed the USA, is a problem & this has engendered the rise of populists like Trump & Farage. Yes, privatisations have generally benefitted the few, at the expense of the rich. Global tax is a big issue, but not one that the UK can do much about unilaterally & the EU totally failed to grasp this one.
The bottom line is that Britain needs to decide whether to become a Scandinavian style high tax country with better public services or a low tax country, with drastically reduced benefits. Conventional UK parties have tried to steer a middle curse, which seems to be pleasing no one - hence the rise of Farage & Reform UK.

I'm not sure that 'but poor people will have better lives if that happens, and that's bad' is the winning point you think it is.

Realistically, if Starmer steps down things are going to get worse. The alternatives, in every direction, are all bad.
