we have lost/been at fault for losing so many points this season. so hes absolutely correct, this game shouldnt matter. we should be in control of our own destiny - but as it is we currently don't break into the top 2 if we manage to get max points from games in hand. | | | |

We do if we win those and also beat boro.
Whats kept us out of the top two is August.
Since then weve done everything a top two side would have done. Won majority. Drawn occasional and lost a bit.
Always playing catch up because of how poor our first month or so was
Its taken boro for example to win 5 out of 7 games to pull away. If they have a few draws/losses and we now do what they did suddenly its all rosey again
Results. Goals scored. Goals conceded in general have been fine. Its the occasional frustration of individual performances that has caused anxiety. |  |

Boro’s next two are really annoying, would have been nice if they had a tough game after this. Always fancied Cov to rally tonight, which is why I said people taking the positives out of Boro winning last week was insane.
Think we need to win a minimum of 5 of the next 8, maybe more.
The lesson here is as soon as you declare anything in the Championship, expect the opposite. |  |

i remember reading conversations on here in august/sept time where some were mocking others when they, rightly, said about getting the points on the board early to ensure theres less pressure/breathing space come the business end of the season.
phrases like "yeah, only 115 points left to play for" or "yeah promotion is decided to sept" or "bed wetting in sept get a grip"
silly really. nobody was suggesting that, just suggestions we werent doing ourselves any favours by dropping important points. | | | |

The reality is we have a manager on a PL wage, a squad worth hundreds of millions. Automatic promotion is rightly the expectation. This match shouldn’t matter. KM is pleased with his striking unit, so anything less than autos will be extremely poor. Over to McKenna.
