New Stoke training ground 18:45 - Feb 19 with 1656 viewsDorchesterBlue

Just watched the video of the new Stoke training ground, looks pretty decent to be fair. They have spent 10 million on it….. I can’t wait to see the high quality of our new one this summer considering it’s in the 30 million plus bracket! Definitely a “game changer” for the long term future of the club.

If the recruitment team have been involved it could be a £30,000,000 Portakabin.

When is the next update due on our sparkly new training ground? Anyone got any info?

Have to say looks pretty bland in the video I watched, but most modern architecture does to be fair. I just saw a shrunken David Lloyd.

That’s what the extra 20 million will change, it’s a decent enough facility for a mid second tier club though.

But how will it look on a cold wet night in November

They should have spent that money on making their ground look not bleak as a field of dogs**t.

....£10m would be enough to move it out of Stoke mate.

I went to uni there and lived two streets behind the away end of the Vic.

Used to see Lou Macari in the paper shop at the end of our road.

Also went to uni there, Lou Macaris son used to run (maybe still does) a clobber shop called Terraces de rigour for the naughty 40 types, all Stone Island and such.

Ah, when were you there? I left in 1996.

Do vaguely recollect a designer shop called Terraces, didn’t know that was Macari’s son.

My ex wife is from Stoke but I only visited and never had to live there, you have my commiserations.

Also disappointed that it wasn't Stoke signing Marvellous Nakamba in the last transfer window.

It looks weirdly dated already. The brick part looks like it's from the 60s or something. Like an old leisure centre. Inside is fine if a bit basic and agree it's a decent facility. Quite small but functional enough.

I'm hoping for a lot more interesting design and interior to be honest.

Poll: Who do we think McKenna (not you) will partner Greaves with ?

£10m spent and they can’t afford to install shower cubicles. Very rugby-esque behaviour to enforce mandatory nudity. Some of the office spaces look so bleak as well.

Why was it necessary to put the boot in to the ITFC Recruitment Team when the thread was about training grounds?

Surely the bile and sarcasm is for the many other threads on Ipswich Town’s recruitment isn’t it?

Just curious.

I think they have actually spent £25m on their training ground facilities over time - but I might be wrong.

The building itself looks functional and quite small, but tbh I really don’t know what they should look like beyond that and the plan/description of ITFCs. Interesting.

I always thought the back-to-back promotions would generate a bit of entitlement in our fan base, but not this much.

Entitlement, bitterness and hatred. It puzzles me as does the constant desire to ‘make a point’.

Back to Stoke, I’ve only been through the place once and that was enough. A dump.

The Gladstone Pottery Museum is more interesting than you think and the Spitfire Gallery in the City Museum (currently closed) is a fitting tribute to a local aircraft designer.
