has anyone else totally lost interest in this summer’s World Cup? The whole roundabout/flag debacle in the summer made me lose a lot of love for my country and with the horrendous corruption of FIFA, the global rise of racism and antisemitism, the Ronaldo nonsense, the fact it’s in the USA with Trump, ice et al is making it all rather unpalatable.
I am probably being a bit dramatic but I just can’t be bothered to watch it. I’m sure i will feel differently when the time comes but I've never felt so disenfranchised with the game. |  | | |  |

Not just you. I had priority to buy any England tickets I want, but after seeing the prices I ditched that idea, and now not even sure I will watch a single minute of it - so turned off by FIFA. It's as bad as the showbiz league here (I'm still not sure why I'm wanting Town to get promoted frankly given how boring it is up there). |  | | |

Same. I watched the last one despite my misgivings, but this one may be the one that makes me give it a swerve, for all of the reasons you have mentioned. Possibly the obscene levels of corruption in FIFA being the clincher. |  |

I am not looking forward to it due to the actions of Trump, the behaviour of FIFA, the expansion to 48 teams, the expansion of VAR, the advertising... I will probably just watch the England matches and a few others, whereas in the past I used to love the World Cup and would watch most matches. |  | | |

It always seems like a tournament of 2 halves
The Group stages; a couple of matches per day every day and loads of joyous fans
Then the slightly more sombre Knock Out bit, one game only per day and sometimes a few days gap between games
Then the departures as disappointed teams head home
Maybe a metophor for life here?
