It's like some think we should never lose a game.

Will we have still lost too many when we go up then?

If you think this team is getting promoted, I fear you are going to in for some disappointment. They don't have enough fight or spirit to go up. Would love to be proved wrong but just don't see it.

Leeds away in 23/24 a far worse performance than today by the way

We lost by this scoreline to Lincoln in 2019. With the club rudderless.

Get some perspective!

Against Leeds, a year 1 parachute club playing a newly promoted team (same as today actually) and then throwing in Lincoln in 2019, pre game changer, god you’re exhausting.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

I was at Elland Road that day, it was a poor performance but

1. it was more of a one off poor performance (pretty much like the WBA game that season) compared with this season where every other away game has been poor.

2. back then we were the newly promoted team and the underdog facing off with a parachute team. So the 4-0 loss doesn't look as bad a today, where the roles have been reversed.

We weren't a parachute team costing mega millions in 2019. The discrepancy between L1 and L2 compared with the PL and Champ is light and day

We lost at Leicester to a worldy and a freak goal. Sheff Utd was bad because we were bullied on the pitch.

Today was just shambolic, cannot run. Cannot pass. Cannot shoot. Half the team static in their fixed positions as if they were being held by puppet strings. Second to every loose ball. And Wrexham aren't Barca or even a fellow parachute team. In fact they have conceded the most goals at home (bar Sheff Wed) and yet we let in FIVE.

Given the fact that Wrexham played midweek away made it even worse. It was as if our entire team spent the past week celebrating the Lunar New Year feasting on Chinese hotpot and booze.

Someone, somewhere must take some responsibility for today. I wasn't there today, but if I was I would be sending a strongly worded letter to the club for a travel refund.

Ha ha ha “strongly worded letter for a travel refund” has got to be the most ridiculous thing posted on here this evening, and you should be proud as it’s a pretty high (or low) bar for that accolade tonight.

Gaining two points on Boro after two away games against teams in the top 8 is obviously good but I can’t look at it quite like that after watching my team do that second half. It was too alarming and didn’t feel like a complete one off to me. I fear we have many stumbling blocks yet but I hope I’m wrong.

Let’s see how things look after the midweek round I guess.

Yeah, talking purely matter of factly about the points. Needs us to get strong results in the three games coming up now to make that true.

Away at Leicester and Sheff Utd were bad, this was a new low. And highly unusual under KM for us to collapse like we did. Overran in midfield, shambles at the back, and very little up front.

A new low 😂😂

I know you've been around for a while on this forum, but this sort of post sounds like a fan who only starting following us post the Marcus Evans era.

On the other hand it's like some think that we shouldn't walk away with no points having scored three goals away from home.

Some people just argue for the sake of arguing.

We can lose 10-0, get relegated and they still will come out in numbers to defend their messiah

Same lot of people were telling us to be grateful to Evans "for saving the club"

Very difficult to take you seriously at this point; by all accounts you'd have a Tifo, cheerleaders, and a speech on the Cornhill, for the groundsmen coming on to fork the pitch at PR at HT.

Today was hugely disappointing - being 3-2 up with 30 mins to go, and subsequently losing 5-3 attracts significant scrutiny; it really doesn't need to be much deeper than that.

This team has cost a fortune; today's performance was trash - that's it.

The OP being endlessly positive in the face of literally anything (Lambert, Cook, Prem Season) is arguably more annoying than the endless whining from others.

I’m almost 60 years old and I’ve seen plenty of shocking results over the years. This is up there with them all - the most expensive Ipswich team ever assembled just shipped 5 goals to a team that was in League One last year. Yes they have money compared to most in the league, but we have now played them three times this season and have one point to show for it. Luckily i couldn’t get a ticket today (was there last Friday for that sh!t show though). I applaud your optimism but this team is miles off the consistency needed for automatic promotion; we’re just lucky it’s a poor league this season that we’re still in contention (sort of). It’s not over clearly, but this team is more consistently inconsistent than anything else. I just don’t see it - I hope I’m wrong - but over the years I’ve mostly been right.

As said elsewhere, a new low for the KM era. And there haven’t been many lows under him which is why today hits different.

Charlton at home this season was the biggest low of the McKenna era, and still is. At least the other results were away.

Yeah, that’s the problem with failing at hurdles. The pressure just rises and each subsequent game becomes more important. I’d like to say we’ll cope with the pressure and pull it out of the bag winning the next three. That’s more from hope than based on form though.

If we do this, it’ll be by looking unconvincing and grinding out points. That die is set and I don’t think we’ll find the mythical total team performance we’ve all been waiting for.

Jake has a point about us having the tougher game but there’s no way I wake up tomorrow morning after watching they saying we are more likely to get promoted. I can easily see us losing 4+ more games this season tbh.

KM has explained over and over that this summer was biggest challenge of them all with bigger turnover than expected, late arrivals and having to build a new team in perhaps the most unforgiving league of all.

The 23/24 team had been mostly together for 2 years. This side has been properly together for 6 months.
