| What now for Sheffield Wednesday? 16:47 - Feb 22 with 1775 views | Mullet | A shame we won't go there again for a while you'd think, possibly for years. It's always been one of my favourite away days and my early years were marked by them having some great players and that. Football is a fairly cruel business and money is everything these days, but maybe Owls fans might be a little bit entitled to some sympathy. They've had some proper scummy moments thanks to some individuals, but you have to wonder if this is the start of a continual drop for them. It's going to be hell of a reversal of momentum to see them halt their current direction. Could we see them end up as another phoenix club sooner rather than later? | |

| What now for Sheffield Wednesday? on 16:51 - Feb 22 with 1740 views | Illinoisblue | The fact it’s taking so long for a new owner to take over doesn’t seem to bode well. (And why aren’t people queuing up to set fire to their money?!) Suspect it’ll get worse before it gets better for them. As we know, L1 is no stroll in the park. | |

Assuming this is my last visit this season, it's pretty sobering to see plastic little clubs littering the Prem and it being replicated in our division because one season with/without Prem money is so significant now. I know noone will cry for another club going under and they're far from the first, but Chansiri has been allowed to destroy a bit of football heritage hasn't he? The fact they;ve gone down so early makes me think it'll be very hard to attract people. Bolton with all their kids the other year comes to mind.

I hope sheff weds come back strong. A traditional English football club. I hate this attitude though that some of the smaller clubs be at top level don’t deserve to be there. Particularly from fans of our club. In our proudest days we have been punching significantly above our weight and good luck to other clubs who can do the same today.

| What now for Sheffield Wednesday? on 17:18 - Feb 22 with 1642 views | ITFC_Forever | The first thing they’ve got to do is for the administrators to agree a sale. Until that happens, nothing else can… and if it doesn’t, that’s the end of them. Assuming they do make a sale, then they can start to move forward. I’d presume there would be some kind of agreement on debts, so once they’re sorted, with their support base they should be able to generate the necessary revenue to be competitive at the top end in L1 relatively quickly. Used to like them, a proper club. But thanks to the efforts of Chansiri and some of their more moronic supporters (how many times have there been reports of missiles being thrown on the pitch and / or trouble outside the ground after games?) and the decaying state of the stadium, they’ve become a shadow of the proud club they used to be and more reminiscent of a bin-fire fast rolling down hill - a danger to themselves and others. | |

| What now for Sheffield Wednesday? on 17:52 - Feb 22 with 1539 views | Kieran_Knows | I appreciate they’ve had a torrid season, accompanied by an owner who’d had enough - but I can’t help but feel they’ve put up no fight at all. It’s hardly like they’ve had to play 17 year olds every game. See their line up today? Probably has more experienced Championship players in it than most clubs in this league. | |

When they are there because they’re been pumped full of money against FFP and through dodgy deals I think it’s totally valid. They add nothing to the top flight but vehicles for billionaires it seems.

Bit like us when we went down to the first division we hardly put up a fight and most of our support happy clapped all the way there. Still grinds my gears after all these years. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Give me Brighton, Brentford or Bournemouth over Chelsea, City or United any day of the week.

Just as bad and just as toxic. Bournemouth are simply taking up space with no fans and no desire to be anything. That and they cheated their way up at our expense and others.

They have "no desire to be anything" because the final step is the hardest to take. They'd grasp it if they could. We're little different now to them - just not so far down the path with our owners being a different nationality. Our ceiling, unless some multi-billionaire comes in, will be to do a Bournemouth/Brentford/Brighton.

Not that different to us in reality though. Think you're barking at cars on this case. The only difference is they're where we aspire to be.

Their fan base is generally pretty awful and have been associated with some really nasty activity. I get it's not all fans but the ratio is pretty high. The ground is a dump and very expensiv÷≥4e I can't see them back for a while - they have a lot to sort out at the club

There's a significant section of their fans I have little time for but what you say is spot on. I see them currently as being in a very similar position as Bolton were in when we got relegated with them. They have suffered but are still around the top regions of League 1 with every chance of getting back into the Championship for next season.

| What now for Sheffield Wednesday? on 01:13 - Feb 23 with 737 views | WicklowBlue | Considering Leicester's cheating financial rules and Wendies situation. Leicester should have been whacked with an 18 point deduction. Chansiri was a car crash but at what point could that joke of an owner be passed as fit and proper in the last 24 months?? So in short Leicester more deserving for the big points deduction imho. | | | |

It’s not expensive. The administrators have significantly reduced prices now Chansiri has gone.

| What now for Sheffield Wednesday? on 06:56 - Feb 23 with 543 views | PioneerBlue | That is a complicated rebuild club but perhaps a sale can be accelerated now they know which league they start from in Aug. Not close enough to detail to know whether that really is close or not, worst case and it eats into a summer of preparation then leaves them behind the curve into next season. Loads of potential but the significant overbearing costs of the stadium which is way too big and old for L1 and Championship football. Look how difficult it is for us to find the cash and time to do a single stand, imagine needing the whole stadium redone! That could be the answer for them but its only a guess. | |

But they were loving it when he was splashing the cash! Leicester should get more points than they did
