Clarke endlessly running into dead ends and slowing things down.

Poll: Will the US Mid terms get cancelled or "postponed"?

Awful take. They doubled up on him defensively which meant he didn't get much joy. It did, however, mean there were gaps for us to exploit elsewhere. When Davis came on and started overlapping, they couldn't contain us.

Poll: Ipswich offer you 10k a week, Norwich offer you 20k. Who do you join?

They obviously count, but someone would still be taking the pens if he wasn’t on the pitch. The argument for me is more about whether we could be more clinical as a team without him. We’ll never know, but moves certainly end with him losing it quite often.

It’s a difficult one though because his goals are so valuable too. But could we potentially score more without him? Maybe. We’re behind where we were in 23/24 when we had only team players. It’s not as if his goals carry us. We have threats through the team and that double number 10 approach with Mehmeti coming in off the left looked much more like the old us.

Opinions, opinions.

Why do you care about “the old us”? This team is far more sophisticated ruthless and clinical than 24. It’s a cold eyed machine.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Poll: With Evans taking 65% in Huddersfield, is the Banter Era over?

I think against the low blocks the dribblers in the team (which is pretty much him and Mehmeti) are under instruction to try to break the lines by running with the ball. It will fairly often lead to a move braking down but the same can be said for trying to pass through the lines when a team is sitting deep and organised or playing it longer for a second ball.

I think that even when it doesn't quite work and the dribbler is dispossessed the 2nd ball situations often become a bit more broken and we've benefited from that at times. Mehmeti ran into a dead end last night but the ball broke for Leif to pass to Azor.

Poll: What % of our full potential are we currently playing at?

He has a better record at pens this season than Hirst. It's not like it's a free gift for whoever is chosen to take it. He deserves the credit for all of his goals.

Clarke, Mehmeti, Philogene and you think we're short?

There have been many games this season where we pedantically pass sideways & backwards, yet Jack Clarke is the only spark & the only player willing to take on his opponent & create something. Definately one of our best this season. Greaves got in his way a bit last night. Really enjoy watching him as hes a trier & makes things happen. Strange to criticise him. Keep it going Jack!

I'm pretty sure every single other Championship side would want Clarke in their match day squads.

Yes, we want more from him, but the end of the day, he is a pretty good player

Pretty standard Clarke. Head down, run into problem, fall over or lose possession.

You conveniently forgot scorer of 12 goals ( including priceless penalties as there's no one else we can trust ), and one of the leading scorers in the division. That sort of " headless chickenry " I can take!

I guess that after three wins in a week somebody has to go to the top of the scapegoaters list.

Firstly, he didn’t miss that chance. He got the ball on target and 99 times in a hundred it goes in. The keeper made a brilliant save and the credit goes to him. Had he ballooned it over the bar or missed it altogether, I’d agree, but in that instance he really didn’t do too much wrong.

However people wish to massage the stats he’s scored 12 this season. That’s good going considering he’s been sub for plenty of games, including last Saturday.

He’s one heck of a player and I for one enjoy watching him play.

Just wish he could find shorts that weren’t the size of Hattie Jacques’ bloomers and sort the hair out.

Possibly post of the day. Take a bow sir.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.
