I’ve felt fairly comfortable for most of the season that we’d get the 2nd auto spot, but that’s evaporated. Boro and cov don’t look like they are going to slip up now. Incredibly tough April ahead. Fixtures piling up. Still not finishing teams off when we are playing well enough to beat them. More away games than home left to play (4 home, 7 away). Maybe I’m being overly negative. Monday blues (excuse the pun) perhaps. Give me reasons to stop being a negative ninny!

I've now flipped from 55/45 expectation we'll do it, to 45/55. So still a decent shot. Win a couple in a row and I'll change my mind again (depending on how 'boro and co do too, of course).
Yeah, I've been doing the Hokey Cokey recently, but after Saturday I'm more PO's than Automatics.
Not out of the realms and we have it in our locker to go on a run, but we need to win the majority and beat Boro, Millwall and a resurgent Norwich, Saints away during a congested period and a Pompey team fighting for their life.

We have though. Over each of our last five games (since mid-Feb) we've gained two points on them. If that happens over the remaining fixtures and we win or draw our game in hand then we'll finish above them.

Except it's not. I really dislike this modern phenomenon of ignoring reality in favour of feels.
Look, many teams would love to be in our position. Yes automatic promotion is what we want but play offs not a disaster. A Wembley final, not to sneezed at! By the way not a defeatist post, just wished we had done better at the start of the season.

We absolutely can still get a top 2 spot, but I've not expected it for a while now. We'll only get it if we see quite a big uptick in consistency (which sounds crazy given our PPG over the last few months; but actually it's credit to Cov & Boro for doing even better (or doing enough to hang on above us!)
PO's will be interesting - I'm pretty confident that over two games we can beat any of the other teams. The final is a lottery tbh!

He said we've not gained on them over the last 5 games and you agreed and suggested that was the truth. Except it's not the truth. We've gained 2 points on Boro over the last 5 games. As a Reform voter I know the truth doesn't matter to you very much but it is actually still quite important in real life.
