It's pointless bonding with this team 13:31 - Mar 11 with 819 viewsLA_Tractor_Boy

Okay, I'm still angry about last night but IMO it's pretty pointless bonding with this team anyway.

If we're successful in the play-offs, then no one apart from Azor and Jaden are good enough for the PL, so most will be out the door even if we're obliged to sign Cajuste and Akpom before selling them.

If we're unsuccessful, then Kipre, Neil, Cajuste, Azon and Akpom will all probably leave, along with Young who was the most pointless signing of the season.

26/27 will be another season of 'gelling' whichever league we're in.

Thanks for cheering me up, we haven't gelled yet this season despite playing 36 games.

Ooh, look who’s the optimist. As if we’ll make it to next season before being nuked to smithereens by Trump when he mistakes Ireland for Iran!

Young has not been a pointless signing. In fact for the first 2 months he looked probably the BEST signing of all of the new arrivals. But really he was signed for experience, coaching and the dressing room not the pitch per se. He's the Keogh/Scales/Campo for this year.

The entire bonding theme tune is total arse and bollox.

Fans got behind the team because they won matches and also played entertaining football. If exactly the same team won far fewer matches in the Championship and wasn’t as entertaining no one will be banging on about bonding. Successful teams create memories such as getting pissed together in Ipswich pubs.

If by some small chance this group of players achieve promotion and then conquer the PL, all of a sudden people will be banging on about bonding then.

One need only look at George Hirst, who has spent much of this season on the sharp end of fans' criticism despite being a key part of the double promotion winning team.

How do you live in LA with an attitude like this?!

You must find their constant optimism an absolute misery to be around?!

Even last night several on here could not praise him cos his goal was a rubbish goal, terrible shot too close to the keeper who should have saved it.

Which was Mark Robbins said, incidentally. However, they all count.

As you buy more expensive and more talented players you are dipping into a pool where they just play where they get paid most and don't really have a connection with the fans or club or area. This is the Premiership model. And we want to be there, apparently. But, to be fair, in days gone by when we signed two quality Dutch players we let them commute from the Netherlands for a while and didn't insist they even moved to Suffolk.
I watch European games in the 70s and would love to see one European game at PR with my son before I leave this world, even a conference game against Cluj would do. Any players that get Ipswich there are fine by me.
