...and yet, we've won. We got three points. We're two points closer to boro. With a game in hand.

It's almost like you're a budgie who's so tragically obsessed that you'd rather come here and weakly troll rather than go celebrate over on WOTB.

That might carry a bit more weight if you hadn't relentlessly bitched and moaned your way through the last years - ncluding the back to back promotions which I struggle to believe any Town fan could have failed to enjoy.

I enjoyed 2023/24 for the most part. 2022/23 felt much like this one - an expensively assembled squad (for the division) perhaps struggling under the weight of expectation, and low blocks, until the home win against Forest Green seemed to kickstart something.

Hopefully the result this year will be the same as that.

I preferred it when the added benefit of a good result was that you'd fook off back to Wotb for a week.

I will stand by my view. The points return has been good. Large portions of the performances have not been - particularly over the last week.

I get we're missing Nunez and Philogene but, with the players at our disposal, we should still be playing better than we are, and need to to pick up the required points over the next series of matches.
[Post edited 14 Mar 19:17]

Some of our 'support' (not you) have been moaning that we're not good enough/too slow/can't play against bottom teams etc all season, but yet here we are with 9 games to go.

Since the first of September (we all know the first 4 left us playing catch up) we been plugging away at 2 points a game for pretty much whatever time period you look at. We are second highest scorers, second best defence (despite a couple of bad defensive games in recent weeks).

Maybe, just maybe, all the naysayers are wrong.

Honestly, if you can't just enjoy being in a promotion battle then I'm not sure that football is the sport to follow.

It's safe to say Gamechanger coming in has been a literal gamechanger. Whatever happens this season, the club is in a much better place. It feels like this season is our best chance to go up, but perhaps Leeds fans said the same about 2024/25 as well. Staying down a further season didn't hurt them.

Not playing particularly well but winning, trying to remember what the saying is about that.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Why is it valid, it’s the result what counts, there’s no points for style. It’s just a crutch for the relentlessly negative to lean on since we’ve climbed the league.

See also “we’re boring”, “we only have one way to play” “”this squad should be walking the league” etc etc

All this with 20% of the league to go.

Because it’s about performances. Get those right and the points follow. We haven’t been great lately. Slow on the ball, mistakes at the back and missing opportunities up top. It’s not a good recipe. That cost us 4 points in the last two games alone.

BUT, you’re right that only results matter. When we grind out a win that’s all that’s important. And the other good news is that our promotion rivals are slipping up as well. We can’t take that for granted though and need to step up and see this over the line (if we want to go up automatically).

Well Middlesbrough played very well today, created loads of chances, failed to take them and got 2 points less than we did. I bet their forum is alive with fans celebrating how well they played, so performance doesn’t equal points does it……

I think Akpom was brought in for 10 and as an option/cover for striker. I really don't see him as a wide player. I do wonder whether akpom 10 and Mehmeti right could work though. Mehmeti seems really adaptable.

Think they were certainly viewed as his main positions but I’m fairly sure the manager mentioned his versatility when the signing was announced

Have you watched the last 4 games ? We have hardly been at the races in the first half for any of them. Millwall won’t give us second chances.McKenna can’t get a tune out of them first half, must be a mindset, either way we get battered unless we pick it up and blo0dy quickly.

You're aware we've taken 14 points in the last 6 with no defeats aren't you. Millwall won't be able to simply defend for 90 minutes like they did at Christmas. I think we're on a strong position to give them a game.

Evening Mark. Probably. I moaned all last season when we were promoted. I just am not seeing a very good team at the moment. I want to see some action. Not this slow, boring plod. It just isn’t great football to watch. And I’m not alone in thinking that either. I’ve seen plenty on here say the same thing.

What the feck are you watching then ? We have the best form in the championship over the last 25 games 49 points, better than Coventry on GD

We have scored the second most goals in the league. Some people

You can't have watched us under McCarthy, Hurst and Lambert, then?

Whilst I agree that we haven't really been "at it" for the last few first halves (games even?), we're still unbeaten in six matches and have out-scored our two main automatic promotion rivals by two (Millwall) and five (Boro) points over the same period.

Also, the PGMOL have stated that in the last two disappointing matches we have been, essentially, stripped of four points for our current tally. Had that not been the case then we would be two points clear in second place (only three behind Coventry) with a game in hand.

There's no need to overreact to our disappointing performances and worry about "what it's". Take each game and opposition as it comes.
