Agreed. They also seem incompetent. I avoid unless I can’t find a better option, yet even in the very few times I’ve used them over the last couple of years I’ve not been able to pay on two occasions. It was in those car parks where in theory they record your number plate and then you go online after to pay. Twice in different car parks my car wasn’t recognised and I got no follow-up to queries (thinking the barstewards would then fine me for non-payment; but they didn’t). I’m not surprised they’ve gone bust. And their stairwells stink of piss and weed!

Watch it happen all over again

They may do, I believe the one behind the old Woolworth's building is only technically a temporary one, even though it has been an NCP one for years

I mean parking and undertakers are open goals for making a buck and never running out of business. [Post edited 17 Mar 1:00]

I read somewhere that the Australian bank McQuarie bought NCP,loaded it with debt, then flogged it off. Pretty much like they did with one of the water companies. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

If it's in administration, I imagine it will still carry on. And ultimately, someone will take over what is effectively a cash cow. EDIT: I came across this. PwC is looking to sell the business as the "best outcome" for those NCP owes money to. "All sites are open, staff remain in post, and trading continues as normal," PwC added. No, they’re staying open for business.

| NCP in administration on 07:56 - Mar 17 with 705 views | OldFart71 | It seems it's NCP creditors they can't pay. Whether that's because they don't actually own the parks I don't know. If you take the case of hospitals, most aren't owned by the NHS because the government get them to build the hospitals. Pay them back over a number of years and allow them to run the car parks and charge what they want. Seems to me a better idea would have been that the money generated from the car parks went to the NHS instead of greedy money grabbing people and nobody visits the hospital for the fun of it. | | | |

The all day parking price at Portman Road NCP on non home match days is cheaper than the IBC Portman Road car parks. I make regular use of that for away games. Not sure about home games and whether they mirror the IBC inflated £15 charge. [Post edited 17 Mar 16:08]
