McGoldrick is a prime example. Our best player and most valuable asset and our underfunded medical team/facilities couldn't keep him fit. Criminal really. He took the brunt of it here at the time for not being able to stay fit but considering he is still going strong at 38, the problem clearly wasn't with him. [Post edited 18 Mar 9:44]

Teddy Bishop was probably the most gifted natural footballer out of the academy, certainly since Ambrose and probably since Dyer.
It's nothing short of an embarrassment that we didn't give him the platform to be a PL level player. | |

Don't be daft, the bloke completed a 90 minutes for Ipswich once? maybe twice? I can't remember, I stopped caring once he left, but he almost exclusively never played a full game.

Regardless of injuries, in my view Bishop was never going to be good enough for the Premier League for two reasons. Size and pace. He lacked both.
However, you are right about how gifted he was. Lovely player; a terrific passer of the ball. I liked him.
The shame of it was the mess the club and team were in when he broke through here and while I don’t know, I doubt our one man with a WW2 fire bucket and old sponge medical team did him too many favours. |  | | |

I understand that its not unusual for families not to move, and that makes sense given what a transient profession it is these days.
I was just basing it on what MM had said, but if he had a house in Ipswich, it does suggest more of a weekly / twice weekly commute, rather than almost daily. | |
