Make a statement, make a statement 18:06 - Mar 24 with 804 viewswaveneyblue

No, not that one.

The reality is, the club would NEVER make the statement the outraged want, because they cant be seen to be anything but impartial , which lets face it, none of the outraged remotely are.

This has been an absolutely monumental day on TWTD, it will go down in history.

For what its worth, Im sure in hindsight the club wishes it never took the call, accepted the booking and probably shouldve been more savvy as to the exposure that the media savvy Farage would give it.

But the outrage, pitch fork waving, explosive over-reaction from the masses, led by the most usual of usual subjects has been a sight to behold. The name calling and accusations aimed at anyone daring to have a different view have been absolute gold too.

Im sure this will be received badly, but hey, its a freeish country and I thought I might as well join in.

Im sure I said a little while ago, its never boring supporting Ipswich.

Have a splendid evening all.

How is it you manage to turn every single post of yours about blaming and criticising Ipswich Town fans particularly the ones that post on here.

Poll: What rating out of 10 do you give to Ipswichs season up to this point?

Its not every one, its just a myth the likes of you like to bring up when I say something you dont agree with.

But thanks for repeating yourself.

I think there is a lot of wishful thinking here. Wishing it will all go away. It shouldn't though.

But you are blaming town fans, then saying the usual suspects, when i've seen many of the most positive town fans on here not happy with this situation.

Personally, im concerned with anyone who doesn't have an issue with what has happened.

I tend to agree with you on this one tbh. The club were very naive, they’ve handled the fall out badly and certainly hope there will be a lot of heart searching and some repercussions in the fall out. This is NOT one of ITFC’s finer moments, to put it mildly.

Well Im more than happy for you to be concerned with me.

Thing is, I don't like Farage and his merry band, but I personally think its been an utterly ridiculous overreaction.

But, the way this board leans politically its not surprising in the slightest.

For what its worth, its the over the top reaction I have issue with, not the way people sit politically.

You don't smell a rat with Ashton then. He has made this decision. And the rest of the club have to live with it. Too much power in the hands of one man.

I don't see what has been OTT

We've had the club send out a lie to twtd and eadt first thing
followed by no comment
followed by a statement that contradicts the likes they told twtd and eadt this morning
followed by confirmation that actually someone at a high level at town invited him/reform to the club

I think the reaction is inline with how crazy it is that the club not only only allowed it to happen but to provide approval for reform to utilise the clubs branding on it's commercial activities.

If you indeed dislike farage and indeed dislike reform, then imo you should share the same disgust at the actions of the club in this.

It'll pass in the days to come, but in a day where we've had so many cover ups and alleged lies by the club, i think a strong reaction was expected.

Don't question me Frimmers, "if you indeed".

I made it crystal clear where my issues lie.

I cant be arsed to repeat myself again.

Oh, and a nice re-writing of today's history/timeline, you just can't help yourself can you.

100%

What makes it even more sickening is that someone at the Club, probably Ashton himself, thinks that the supporters are idiots

Dishonest

Genuine question - how do you know the club sent out a lie to TWTD/EADT? Or where the confirmation of someone at a high level invited him? I might have missed something, only just got in from work!

It’s all be blown out of proportion. How many threads did we need on one subject? And for the most part, the same 8-10 people occupied every thread.

1. What the club source gave twtd and eadt doesn't match the statement that came out
2. Reform sent text to athletic showing a senior member of town asked for the meeting

But surely you can grasp why the reaction has been as it has. We do live in troubled times - populism on the rise due to to a continued faltering economic climate. If someone or some group well known had to nail their colours to the mast of the Good Ship Farage, please let it not be our club.

Erm no..... thats my entire point.

But its just my view, which im allowed to share, whether people agree or not.

When it all dies down, there will be only one winner, the publicity craving Mr Farage... thats the saddest part of this.
