I hope we never go up now 20:23 - Mar 24 with 3016 viewsBlueschev

The statement is pathetic and confirmed my worst fears. No other club to my knowledge has put themselves in this position. Kick it out? What a joke. I’m heartbroken.

Not gonna lie, I lolled at heartbroken.

Why, football is something most of us put our emotions into? Why would you not expect such a crass error of judgement to cause deep upset.

I’m poles apart from Blueschev, but you’re right. He has always had principles and integrity.

I’m just suggesting the easy way forward for you and the potential consequences of enough people following your lead.

If this club falls into oblivion you’ve made it clear you don’t care - ‘I hope we never go up now’.

That’s fine. We are all entitled to an opinion and if you hope a football club should ‘never go up’ the alternative is oblivion.

Personally it seems a little harsh to take away a football club from 1000s of people because the club allowed a politician to use a function room. But hey, that’s just my view.

You're a decent poster Churchman, but that last paragraph is such a deliberate misrepresentation of what has happened that I've lost a bit of respect for you.

The upset today isn't because of the use of a function room, and you must know that as you're not blind, but the use of the club to create PR for Reform, coupled with some pretty blatant dishonesty from the club.

Downplaying the event to dismiss people's concerns is pretty crap form tbh.

I understand the sentiment but not the intent.

This is what Reform want - they cause chaos, despair and then laugh in decent people’s faces marvelling at what they have created. And in the division they take advantage.

Their PR team will no doubt be laughing at the commotion that they’ve reaped.

Yeah, I care about the football, and what happens on the pitch. Like fans conveniently ignored Morsy's opinion on the rainbow laces campaign, because he was a great servant to the club.

I’m not question his right to do anything he likes, but I do question the Title and what it means.

All I did was point his way forward. It’s easy and I don’t expect to see him on this forum again which is sad as I always enjoyed and respected his posts.

If hoping the club never go up is a sign of integrity, it’s lost on me.

Either you haven't been paying attention or you're twisting facts to suit your framing of the events.

I actually think you are a good poster who I have respect for. How you view me is your prerogative. The last paragraph is a logical outcome of what that poster hopes for. There’s no other outcome I can think of.

The club did not create a PR platform. Reform borrowed a room to use it as a PR platform. There is a difference. That’s the risk you run if you allow politicians in which I’ve already made perfectly clear is something I’m strongly against.

Blatant dishonesty? I’ve seen plenty of opinion including statements quoting media. If it’s proved people lied, they have to go. I’ve said many times, I don’t do liars.

It is not a question of downplaying anything but more finding perspective and taking personal views and hatred out of it.

Going berserk on social media is exactly what he wanted so given he already enjoys substantial support, the events of today will only help him, sadly

That’s an example of elite PR.

Note to ITFC, someone needs to prod Mark to insert the word elite before recruitment and PR, annoyingly frequently now.

The morals and what the club stands for is more important by far than success. I've supported Town since the 60s before Bobby Robson became manager. I'm proud of everything the club has stood for over all those decades. The Cobbolds, Sir Bob, the people who have cherished the values of fairness, community, inclusivity and diversity. Those values are completely ingrained in what ITFC means to me. I'd rather support Ipswich in L1 or wherever we happen to be but retaining those values than aligning ourselves with populist right wing extremists and playing in the Champions League. If that was what I wanted, I'd be supporting a club like Man Utd or Chelsea. This just is not Ipswich, and whoever made that decision needs to be sacked, because they simply don't understand what this club is all about. Whether it is one of the owners, the CEO, or another high ranking official, I don't care. They don't belong at my club. We need to know how this happened and who was responsible.

I’d happily take the Evans years and all that entailed rather than why the club has shown itself to be today. A truly shameful day

More false framing. Understating the severity of the facts whilst claiming people are over-reacting.

Trying to apply a sensible and logical view to this, is the same as trying to argue with the doommongers.

It seems everyone has made their decision and that's that.

Facts or sense wont get in the way of a rabid rant.

I don’t think relaying what they actually did is false framing.

Severity? He’s a poxy politician who the sane wouldn’t wazz on if he was on fire. But they hired a room which the club says it allows politicians to do. That’s the facts of it.

Whether people at the club have lied is another issue.

No I’m not friends with Nash. I’ve never heard of the bloke. Are you? Should I be? Why are you asking?
