| If the club stay silent 12:03 - Mar 27 with 1358 views | The_Romford_Blue | And attempt to wait it out.. as they’re clearly intending to do so far with refusing to comment further, no further statements despite all the mounting evidence, etc… then where on earth do we go from here? It can’t just be.. we all forget about it and move on. Obviously. And it wouldn’t be like that anyway. But we’ve a game in 8 days and the closer we get to the game without this being resolved, the bigger an issue it becomes. It’s not only made us as a club be tarnished, but it could legitimately affect our promotion chances now as well. Especially if the players (O’Shea being one of them) are angry. With the comments made by Farage re the managers job.. McKenna probably would have every right to go ‘thanks but no thanks. Where’s my gratitude for the job I’ve done? This is way too disrespectful. I resign’ and I think I’d totally understand it. What now basically? | |

| If the club stay silent on 12:09 - Mar 27 with 1228 views | CastroSito | The lies element only broke at 5pm yesterday. I would expect (hope) there will be some form of statement later today. They need to do their due diligence. | | | |

I suspect you are right, sadly. If things don't go so well in the PL again, then he'll be under a lot of pressure from all sides, though.
| If the club stay silent on 12:18 - Mar 27 with 1128 views | thebooks | I’d be very surprised if Ashton made it through the weekend, but there are a couple of things in his favour that might prolong the whole sorry affair. He can hold out for as a big a pay-off as possible, so that might extend it a few days. This will be particularly galling. As he’s also Chairman (and that really is looking a very bad decision now) I guess that makes the process more difficult. If he does somehow ride out the 8 days, we make our feelings clear at the Brum match. I can’t see it just dying down, judging by the reaction on here, in the media etc. | | | |
| If the club stay silent on 12:18 - Mar 27 with 1128 views | left_foot | I think the silence from the club points more towards a change happening, which will need time to unpick. If nothing was to happen we would have had a club statement by now. | | | |

There may actually be some interest in it now just to see who makes an appearance and who doesn’t.

Yes, I think any severance package might take a bit of time to finalise so it's quite possible this is the reason for the silence. It's not possible for the club to remain silent now, too much has come out. Resolving this over the weekend, gives a week to concentrate on football again before the Birmingham match; not resolving it doesn't.

| If the club stay silent on 12:22 - Mar 27 with 1051 views | jasondozzell | The next worst thing to Ashton not going is going to be the very tightly controlled sit down interview where Matt Holland asks him the prepared questions and he says 'Listen, I've always said I don't get things right all the time...' before basically doubling down and saying 'listen I do everything in the best interests of this football club.' Meanwhile we're going to have to deal with an already sizeable moronic elementnof our 'fans' at away games singing about Farage running down the wing for Town. Grim. | | | |
| If the club stay silent on 12:22 - Mar 27 with 1045 views | Vic | I wonder if comms silence is because they are working out severance stuff. At least i kind of hope it is. So sad after all the good times that MA's time has to end this way. | |

| If the club stay silent on 12:22 - Mar 27 with 1042 views | Butterbing | The TWTD article came out at 5.30 yesterday. In terms of working hours that is not actually a long time. I suspect they will be priortising any internal discontent first. We do not know yet if they are remaining silent. If there is no further statement today then I suspect that the plan will be to wait it out and hope it goes away. Could be some very interesting chants at the Birmingham game (from both sides). | If the club stay silent on 12:23 - Mar 27 with 1004 views | GlasgowBlue | You would expect Ashton to be in attendance at the women's game this weekend. This will be followed up by a 7pm interview on Town TV Monday night where he will apologise for the hurt caused and promise to redouble his efforts to build Ipswich into a competitive Premier League team. That's purely my opinion. [Post edited 27 Mar 12:24]

I'm not sure I can take the faux sincerity, sub Brent schtick that would involve.

There’ll be tears rolling down his face, if he does the in-house interview

| If the club stay silent on 12:38 - Mar 27 with 735 views | LankHenners | It's come at a really bad time for a lot of reasons - on a lower level denies the club the chance to make a big public thing about both the Foundation in the aftermath of the 'Foundation Fixture' and the women's fixture at PR on Saturday as any attempt to do so will see the social media channels bombarded with the Farage stuff, thus taking the shine off the original points. Above that, we're heading into the most crucial part of the season and created a wholly unnecessary distraction from it, there are no games for almost a couple of weeks so the club can't use them as a way to shield criticism, as there is nothing else going on the pressure to say/do *something* will only increase the longer the silence goes on etc. It's been reported Ashton already addressed concerned staff and brushed them off with a non-apology, will his ego prevent him actually doing the right thing now more has come out since? Are there more specific details yet to be released/discovered which is leaving him unsure of how to go about things when he'll want to try and save his own skin during any apology that does come out? As has also been discussed it's probably actually quite difficult/complicated to finalise what/how it happens if he leaves, of his own accord or otherwise. When Gamechanger took over and subsequently appointed Ashton, they made a big noise about how they always had him in mind for a leader of a football club, and have empowered him to drive every project that's gone on since. Tough emotionally to rip that up and find someone else, and also practically in terms of pay and recruiting for senior roles. With that in mind it's not unreasonable that it's taken longer than many hope for more communication to come through, but you'd like to think the discussions among the ownership have been focussed on little else since the start of the week and we'll hear something over the weekend. If nothing else only fair on McKenna and the players to get a distraction-free week to build up to the Birmingham game. | |

One of the players angry was our captain. That in itself is a huge problem

I presume at some point the reaction of the players will come out, particularly if Ashton goes. I imagine a number of them will be fuming, including McKenna. Given O'Shea has been away on international duty, I wonder who is stepping up to be the voice of the players of those who are currently there? Davis or Ashley Young perhaps?

The captain hasn’t been at the club this week, but he could have expressed his thoughts to the manager who, I imagine is equally as concerned
