100% let’s move on. The more dislike that’s harboured the more our fan base becomes divided.. COYB

He apologised for fck all.

He could have curled one out on the boardroom table, winked at the camera and you'd have been greedily lapping it up.

Yep didn't actually apologise for it. He apologised for the hurt caused not for what he did so therefore didn't think what he did at the time was wrong.

And just what was that about reviewing policy on local politicians. Why have we not got something in place already. What was our policy on engagement with positions and especially leaders of political parties surely we had one?

Should have done it earlier, but what more can he do now?

For those with pitchforks out… remember what was before him.

It has been made crystal clear a large portion of the fan base are upset and hurt. He will know this, let’s not get swept into cancel culture and move forward together.

Unfortunately those who are tribal about politics will never move on, but so be it.

what more can he do?

Explain the apparent mistruths

explain who invited him

explain why he thought it was a good idea

explain why he held a staff meeting and lied

explain why the first statement to the press was a lie

explain why he accused the NYT of lying

for a start

Are you a Reform supporter who sees the visit to the club of Farage as perfectly fine? Or you just massively deluded?

So, you're accepting his apology for a thing that didn't bother you and therefore didn't require an apology, on behalf of the people who it did bother who he was actually apologising to?

Yes. It was a controlled statement/interview deliberately.

He rightly is going to avoid:
- Chucking his team under the bus
- Turning this into a “he said, she said” match which will drag this out further
- This dragging on for those who are disappointed more about the Political PR and distractions rather than the individual. Why? Because politics is so tribal for people, they lose all rational thought.

I don’t align with Farage, I feel disgusted in what happened. But our feelings are clear and have clearly made an impact to the point he’s had to make a public apology. Lessons should be learnt and that be it.

What does that achieve then?
If you’re so unhappy steer well clear of the club from now on. He’s offered the apology, if it’s not good enough wave goodbye.

Why does he need to do that though? Just to appease a small section of the fanbase?

The majority of the fan base want to forget about this debacle and move on with the football.

Had he gone into detail as you so wished then no doubt that would of bought up more questions from your section of the fanbase and this would of continued to drag on. He has now tried to draw a line in the sand.
