Running towards the job centre more like...

Another day with the club publicly saying precisely nothing. The longer it festers the more damage is done to the clubs reputation and image...

What days to be a towen fan eh.

No, and I don’t think he’s going to.

I get the feeling it’s done now as far as he and the club are concerned.

I think he goes in the summer, but even if that's the plan, the club would do well to announce it...

Longer it drags on, the more damage it does imho

Here here.
I feel a huge disconnection from the club. I no longer know what ITFC stand for. Something that I have felt connected to for decades, undone by a narcissistic egotistical liar.
What that man has done is alienate a big section of the fan base.
And total silence from the ownership group.
If there is going to be a well organised protest at the Birmingham game, then I may go and join in, but not sure what's happening. Otherwise my seat(s) will be empty.

I'm opting for the stay at home.

My partner is Eastern European and I can't look her in the face and say I'm happy to visit Portman Rd with Ashton in post.

I'd be a total hypocrite. Away days only for me til he's gone (or it's announced)

I don't think it was posted yesterday, but Terry Hunt posted a column in the EADT which does a pretty good job of (mostly) capturing where my disillusionment lies, if people are interested beyond boiling it down to culture politics and political points scoring:

The non apology on Friday night was clearly edited. We didn’t even get to hear the question Ashton was asked. Just his answer. I wouldn’t be surprised we don’t get a longer version before the weekend.

Phil said words to the effect that the club knows they have fcuked up and would be building bridges. We’ve seen precious little evidence of that. I don’t think this bunker mode mentality is sustainable.

Perhaps the owners are waiting to judge the mood music on game day before acting?

The silence from the club is deafening. It is possible they think the "apology" from Ashton was enough. They may even think like the far-right Aussie "news" broadcasters who called him a wet wipe for apologising at all for a politician wearing a tee shirt that showed he supports the club. They don't seem to see the issue at any rate if that is it.

It is also possible that the ownership group along with the HR department are scrambling around and something is in the process of being sorted out. If those with inside knowledge are correct about the depth of feeling within the club, I suspect this is closer to the truth right now. Those sources have tended to be reliable on other things even when I have preferred not to believe them.

And just to make it clear, I wouldn't be happy if we were Starmer FC, or Corbyn FC, or Badenoch FC. Although at least 2 of those would be preferable to Farage FC.

Read that late yesterday, such a good article and well written

I think those pushing the "It's only on Twtd" line are wrong. The fans are split down the middle on this, way more than 40 dissenting voices as someone claimed on here last week.

I mentioned that bridge building point yesterday, and we've not (publicly) seen anything yet, have we?

Time to Move On (at your own pace) by Chris_ITFC 28 Mar 8:41
I get it. I honestly do. I was as p*ssed, dumbstruck, astonished, offended as anyone.

But that’s the best we’re getting. He’s fronted up, climbed down and apologised. You might not like the sentiment, you might be able to rip the words apart, but that’s it now. There won’t be anymore videos, apologies, statements, resignations or sackings.

You can either meet them in the middle, start to move on, and get back to enjoying your football club again or, sadly, this will end up spoiling something that is such a big, important part of your life. Unfortunately life isn’t perfect, but don’t let this or anyone spoil ITFC for you.

The 40 dissenting voices line is also why people need to continue to express why we are so angry. Those claiming 40 dissenting voices are also complaining about there being 40 different threads on it.

I think there will be loud chants against Ashton if he is still here come Monday. That's even considering that a lot of those fans who are of that opinion have stated they won't go and a lot have stated they won't chant it during the game.

You never reply when challenged over why you are so apathetic over our club being allied to racists.

You are the tedious one. Try to have some understanding of the issue.

The great thing about this forum is that you can choose what you read. Don't like a thread topic? Don't click on it, and read its comments!

Why do you feel your constant "move on" comments add anything useful to the discussion? I feel you are the one who needs to move on.

Do you know anything about me mate?

You think I give a fck for people telling me to "move on" or others having a different view? Have a look at my avatar, I'm in the actual picture.

Having the balls to stand up for what you think is right isn't for everyone, I get that. But fortunately there's plenty of people willing to stand up for their beliefs.

And no, I won't be shutting up or moving on, until the person who has damaged our club, it's long term prospects has gone.

Get used to it, cos it only ends one way...

Unfortunately we have a real vacuum in terms of complaining.

The CEO is the problem and there is no obvious structure above that to engage with. Supporters club sit in the fence and so how else do you get heard?

I do find the narrative that "the club want to move on, so so should you, suck it up buttercup" quite astounding.

Like. No shit the club wants to move on. When I monumentally screw up, I just want to move on too, but the world doesn't work like that!

Many have e-mailed the club. The press coverage is widespread. Message boards are full of it. Employees are complaining. The club cannot fail to be aware even if they actively tried to avoid it.

The fact it is the CEO is neither here nor there. If we had a Chairman and they were the problem there would be no one above them either. The person at the top is still accountable.

The longer this goes on, the more the club will have to become aware too. Sponsors will say why they are leaving. The marketing team will say why they can't find new ones. The drop-off in merchandise sales and empty seats at matches will hit. Gamechanger aren't going to ignore this even if every one of them is the keenest MAGA fan (and therefore Farage fan) going.
