Winning balls in the final third and causing problems. Remember the goals we used to score when teams passed themselves into trouble. Our press from hirst nunes and mcateer tonight was dreadful. I wouldnt even call it a press.

| only beaten 1 side in the bottom 10 away from home all season on 00:23 - Apr 15 with 997 views | JimmyJazz | These are the games we have really struggled in, we have the possession, do nothing with it, the opposition grow in confidence, score, game over I wonder if we would be better to sit back and look to counter attack, like we did on Saturday. If that's not very fruitful be more attacking once the subs come on with 20-30 minutes left | |

As I've said many times this season, the Championship is as competitive as ever, the quality is poor, as will be shown by the marked difference next season. We do not want to be in it.
| only beaten 1 side in the bottom 10 away from home all season on 01:05 - Apr 15 with 927 views | Illinoisblue | in far too many away games we are unable to impose ourselves on the game or maintain any kind of intensity. It’s been a massive problem which KM seems unable to solve. Which brings us back to the missteps in our transfer business. | |

I watched the first 15 and then the last half hour. First 15 we were doing exactly that and on a couple of occasions with a bit of awareness would probably have scored. Not sure what happened after that but it wasn’t good!

The other issue I have is when we do we rarely score to capitalise on it or get a second goal to kill game of if we do manage to get one (Oxford for example)

It's one game. We literally won at our rivals 4 days ago.

Indeed, our intensity dropped & Pompey realised they weren't playing Barcelona & grew in confidence. The poor away record against lower half teams is concerning, with WBA & Charlton to come, both of whom still have an eye on avoiding relegation. Despite McKenna bigging up Pompey pre game, it does sometimes seem as if the team EXPECT to win those games, so aren't 100% motivated. I'm hopeful of a better performance against Boro on Sunday; they are well out of form. Still in our hands - just!

Yes, we started ok again last night. Then got to 20 minutes in and let the intensity drop. Again.

What was really frustrating is throughout a lot of the game we made Dozell look like prime time PIrlo with forward splitting through balls that we can only dream of from our midfielders. It really highlighted the massive lack of a quality playmaker and driving midfielder and composed striker. I know that will likely be addressed next season even if we are not promoted but really sorry state of affairs to see the money we have spent but not on positions where fully required.

Expecting Leif’s lady’s baby’s dropped. Just like these points, when the ref’s whistle stopped. We seemed to turn up like my neighbour’s cat; Expecting great things on the road, and now flat.

We'd be far better if we played just like we did in the first half against Millwall at PR for 90 minutes every game. Very few Championship teams would live with that, with just the possible exception of Southampton, ( what a game that would be! ). Instead KM has decided to install a more pragmatic, pass out from the back slower type of football in general. Presumely as a test case for a return to the PL. Unfortunately forgetting two very important and fundamental things. One: We actually have to get there first, believe it or not Two: The players that are having this " style " of play enforced upon them are in many cases, if a return to the PL occurs, going to be largely bit part players in the PL, if they are actually here at all. So it's a complete waste of time. My message is, go back to what we do best, play teams off the park, with quick one/two touch football. Worry about next season when this one finishes!
