Does anyone know if this is our last year with Umbro? I heard a rumour Castore were taking over after this?? I feel Umbro have dressed us well over this memorable spell for the club.
Just hope we don't go back to Adidas!

Tbf, if it does end up being Adidas, their WC kits are definitely some of the better ones, the retro badge looks ace

IIRC, when we left Adidas previously it had already been announced by now that we were ending the partnership.

Think it'll be an extension of the Umbro deal

....largely been poor to average, topped off by this season's abomination of an away kit. Our view of them is clouded by the success we've had wearing them and people getting misty eyed over Ed Sheeran.

A move back to Adidas would be far better, again the view of those kits is heavily influenced by us generally being crap and having a terrible sponsor or two (apart from that Blue, white and red one that was terrible)

Not to mention this year’s Umbro training wear looks utterly horrendous and is massively overpriced. Had about 600 emails from the club over the last month or so screaming sale and discounts but it’s still not worth it.

I haven’t been a fan of Castore kits. However my youngest son is in one of the cricket county academies and their kit is Castore and is very good quality

I thought Castore owned the licence to the Umbro brand in the UK, so our current deal is essentially with them already?
May well be thinking of someone else.

People moan on here all the time about 'identikit' kits though. (See also Stadia)

A move to Hummel wouldn't be opposed by many supporters, but its interesting you mention people getting misty eyed about the success in Umbro kits, there's an argument that people do the dead same about Adidas, with the Robson years and all that.

As long as it's not Nike. Their fit is not designed for my 'built for comfort, not for speed' physique.

Adidas have the right image but their kits were mostly lazy and insipid.

Umbro - this season the away kits were shockingly poor. I can forgive the third kit but the red away kit was appalling. Saying that, the home kits have been good.

Hope we don’t go back to adidas and their boring templates.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if it's Castore.

That would explain all the current-season Umbro kit having an utter fire sale on it, but all of the Umbro retro stuff staying full-price.

With the two brands being under one roof, it'll allow the club to have Castore for 26/27, and keep selling the retro Umbro lines.

For those of you wondering if Castore have finally upped their quality game, I'll leave this photo here:

Hertha BSC released a special edition kit yesterday - Castore couldn't even get the sponsor's logo on straight for the promotional shoot...

Although, if you look at the various images on their shop page, the logo appears to be available in all sorts of on-the-huh type alignments.

I suppose it is hard to keep coming up with three new kits every year, as it results in clubs playing in all different colours/designs to market these kits and losing a bit of their identity. Ipswich playing in all red or grey just doesn't feel right to me, especially in games where we could wear blue and white.

Adidas were rubbish for us too, one season they had us out in Bosnia's old kit, the season after that we had a pinstriped, collared monstrosity, then that white sleeved Chevron disgrace, and some of those away kits were woeful, junk strips any 5-a-side team could buy and print up. Hardly a "partnership".

I think some are looking back a little too fondly at Adidas's naff, half hearted, generic, strips they put out for us. Umbro have been guff, just retro-puke, but let's not pretend those Adidas kits were any good. The cheeky sods even gave us the same basic home strip twice with a season in between with I think two slight changes (19/20 and 21/22).

Some of the colour clash regulations have become ridiculous.

See us playing in red but blue socks because Pompeys socks are red.
If the ref is struggling to separate kits to that level no wonder the officiating is so sh!t

And then we played Charlton on Wednesday with both teams in white shorts - how was that not an issue?

Some teams change the colour of their shorts if the home team wears the same colour ones. It used to be a league requirement but with the advent of the PL, it was deemed appropriate that each team should be able to wear their traditional colours wherever possible.

Some teams however, continued to alternate their shorts for such a colour clash. Town did until very recently.

Colour clashes for socks have been a thing since the 70s - think sock colours are considered more of an issue than shorts. No idea why.
