| Jens Cajuste 18:59 - Apr 23 with 4437 views | BelgianBlue | Does anyone know the real reason(s) behind jens Cajuste not playing anymore ? It can't be only related to a lack of physicality ? A lack of commitment ? Poor form ? I thought his performances were not THAT bad when I saw him playing ... It is such a disapointment , having an inter Milan player indefinitely on the bench ... | | | | |
| Jens Cajuste on 19:05 - Apr 23 with 3423 views | GlasgowBlue | It has to be an appearance clause. He's not set the world on fore but he hasn't been a passenger in any games he's played in. | |

| Jens Cajuste on 19:06 - Apr 23 with 3439 views | Muncher | Because he hasn't been performing when he has played and no doubt there is a clause forcing us to buy him when he reaches 30 appearances. | | | |

McKenna alluded to “amongst other things” twice when chatting about him the other week, so elf’s like something is not quite right. He said his knee is as good as it’s been for a while as I think most assumed he had a knock of some type. I thought he was a passenger defensively when played, nowhere near the levels of running, tracking required. To be struck on 30 could be the answer all along

| Jens Cajuste on 19:14 - Apr 23 with 3332 views | BloomBlue | You say an Inter Milan player but he hasn't dominated the midfielder once in the games he has played. Whereas you have other players in the Champ who do. He doesn't change any game when he has come on as a sub. I really thought he would be a star this season and he hasn't. Not being picked because not good enough this season based on performances. | | | |
| Jens Cajuste on 19:20 - Apr 23 with 3266 views | franz_tyson | Napoli, isn't he? Fing is.... if we don't score when he does his 2 or 3 pretty things per game, we're left with a player who doesn't do the necessary dirty work and we're a bit short-handed. He's behind Neil and Taylor and Nunez can play deeper, so there's no real need for him to be on the subs bench when we've got a fit side. We've also got an Ajax player on the bench. Last year we had a Man City player who was a waste of space, CV's aren't everything. | | | |
| Jens Cajuste on 19:22 - Apr 23 with 3254 views | Whos_blue | In the post match footage last night he looked in great spirits with a grin from ear to ear, so I don't think it's a fall out or anything like that. Maybe it's appearance related like has been mentioned? 🤷🏻♂️ | |

Yep I agree. I think we're guilty of a bit of revisionism when it comes to Cajuste. He has struggled with the defensive side of things in the second half of season but he put in some very good performances in the first half. Classy player. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

It can't just be appearance related, as that's a risk strategy. Think the obligation to buy is £5.6M, but only if we're promoted. We have to get there first, so KMc must think he can't contribute.

Might be a nudge to him and his agent to start getting him a move to Saudi in the event we're obliged to sign him if we're promoted. One thing that is very apparent at the moment, is that gutsy and hardworking players like Taylor and Furlong are much more important to us at this stage of tbe season when the poing gets tough than show-ponies.

I can’t recall any matches where he has played that well this season, has he even created a goal ? I can’t recall one - has 3 assists for simple passes to Clarke and Philogene to bang in from 25 yards. Also a cross to Burgess scored an OG from when the game was won.

| Jens Cajuste on 19:57 - Apr 23 with 2894 views | _CliveBaker_ | He came on at Stoke and was on the bench at Portsmouth and last night. If it’s appearance related that’s a slightly strange move. I think he’s just 4th choice, probably 5th behind Nunez, and McKenna likes to stack the bench with forward options. When you’ve got Matusiwa, Taylor and Neil fit and Nunez also in the 20 I think he simply misses out on that basis or at best he’s on the bench. I’m not sure there’s much more to it than that given he’s still ‘in the group’ and been on the bench as recently as yesterday. Based on performances this season I think it’s right as well, he’s done very little really. [Post edited 23 Apr 20:02]

| Jens Cajuste on 19:57 - Apr 23 with 2885 views | The_Flashing_Smile | People saying it's because of any kind of '30 appearance' clause are talking nonsense, because he's been on the bench whilst on 29. Unless you think KMc would waste a place for a player he's not going to bring on. | |

He’s been crap, let’s be honest. Had he not been he would’ve played more. We’re just over a week out from the end of the season, we’re firmly in ‘play your best team’ territory and the likes of Cajuste, Akpom, Egeli are finding minutes harder to come by than they have previously. Understandably so, and with good reason.

Do you not think theres been a game at all where a cajuste off the bench would have been a solid addition considering weve had cms running on fumes. [Post edited 23 Apr 20:05]

He’s played 29 games this season, so he has been used. Pompey is the only one that comes to mind as one where you might’ve got him on, but when you’ve got 5 subs and change your front 4 every game it only leaves 1 midfielder to come on, and Neil / Taylor are ahead of him. If we were managing an appearance clause I don’t see why we would’ve given him 5 minutes when we’re 3-0 up against Swansea.

Not sure that Dan Neil has done any better in that position. Hence the reason we are so reliant on Jack Taylor.

29 games and I’m struggling to recall anything he’s done. Goals? Assists?

The Leicester keeper rolling one to him 5 yards out for him goal, see above for assists. Clearly has talents attacking but in a midfield two in the championship where running, tackling tracking players is a fundamental he is lacking. If we played a three with Matusiwa at the base and two attacking mids he could work I think.
