Even if I agreed with your opinion (which I don’t) the idea a draw does nothing for us is very obviously and provably wrong.

It quite literally takes us back second and guarantees we will be second going into the last day.

I didn't say it does nothing, it only does nothing if we draw with Southampton, I said it was not of much use. I then clarified what i meant by that by explaining although there is obviously some use in a draw over a defeat if we then lose to Southampton, the jeopardy of going for a win was much better, and I gave a detailed explanation for that.

You said “it’s not of much use”.

I’d say guaranteeing being 4 points above Southampton before playing them and guaranteeing worse case we’ll be second going into the last day is rather useful.

I want it done and dusted Tuesday night as much as anyone but of course it’s useful.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

I'm not sure you're reading what i'm saying as you seem to be just repeating things I've already countered. I can only repeat I know there is some use in a draw if we then don't draw with Southampton but it is not as great as the use of beating WBA with the risk of losing in a risk/benefit analysis considering a) 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw anyway but b) the resultant gradient of needing a draw v QPR over nerves trying to get a win.

We've got three shots at getting a win and we want to leave it until the last game where anything could happen red card / penalty etc? - even more evidence to risk getting that win asap.

I respect your argument, it's not dumb by any stretch, I just feel it's better to go for a win at WBA rather than hope for a point for the reasons I explained earlier.

Of course winning is better than a draw! That’s not really what anyone is saying. But a point would be a big result now and take a lot of pressure off Tuesday.

Anyway don’t really need to go round in circles.

Na, f#ck that. I want 3 points. I don't want to be heading into the last day needing a result!

Absolutely! But a draw is now 'ok' and not the disaster it would have been.

Going to be a tough game though. I'll be relieved with a draw but absolutely ecstatic if we win.

No. The sooner we get three points the better. QPR have form for being party poopers.

Beating WBA puts us in a fantastic position.

There's accuracy on both sides of this silly squabble, because the path to success is manifold.

I'd take a point but I want three.

No, no, "Three points for a win, one for a draw" was indicating the greater prize of gaining 2 points against the forfeit of losing 1 point, it wasn't saying 3>1 which it is, but was not my point.
