| WTF, why is everyone settling for a point tomorrow? 22:15 - Apr 24 with 2250 views | tonybied | It doesn't suit us! 3 points in what has the chance of being a very winnable game is what we need. | | | | |
| WTF, why is everyone settling for a point tomorrow? on 22:17 - Apr 24 with 1965 views | gainsboroughblue | I'm not but it wouldn't be the end of the world and we'd be sitting 2nd going into the final week with a game in hand and literally needing a win from 2 games. But I'm with you. A win v WBA tomorrow gives us a completely different type of freedom for Saints away. | |

| WTF, why is everyone settling for a point tomorrow? on 22:18 - Apr 24 with 1921 views | LA_Tractor_Boy | I think the point is we don't need to chase the game tomorrow. Sure, a win would be perfect but I'd have taken needing to beat Soton or QPR a week ago. | | | |
| WTF, why is everyone settling for a point tomorrow? on 22:18 - Apr 24 with 1914 views | SitfcB | Because we’re scared, Tony. I feel sick. (Give me the fecking win please) ((But a point will do)) | |

| WTF, why is everyone settling for a point tomorrow? on 22:20 - Apr 24 with 1858 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | Because we understand simple mathematics. Going into St Mary’s with a 4 point cushion when a goal difference could still swing is obviously huge and it guarantees beating QPR secures PL football. Of course a win would be nice but it’s really about not losing two in a row, to ensure it’s in our hands last day. | |

Relying on mathematics in the Championship is a dangerous game. You need to take your chances when they come. This is the time they count. 3 points should be the aim, not settling for 1!

Exactly this. Lose tomorrow and Soton would fancy their chances of coming second on GD. A point tomorrow avoids that. In fact Millwall’s late equaliser doesn’t really change much as we’d still want the point tomoz for the same reason.

If we copy Millwall by dropping 2 points tomorrow we give BOTH Millwall and Southampton something to play for. A win tomorrow makes a slip against Southampton less problematic

Outside of Portsmouth, our form is perfectly fine and we're the ones in second.

Totally. And like I say, we could probably afford to be a lot more proactive v Southampton as well. It wouldn't quite be a free hit but it changes the dynamic a hell of a lot. It may even mean a completely different eleven from them.

Third at the moment. I know the overall form has been fine. Its just that damn game isnt it and the wrexham type one. You know town are unfortunately capable of that sort of game. I would absolutely love a nice comfortable 3 0.

Yep, if we lose tomorrow and Southampton beat us that’s a MINIMUM of a 3 goal swing meaning they can just outscore us by a few last day to finish above us. It’s vitally important not to have that in consideration for them, if we are 4 points above them you’d think they’d pretty much be in playoff mode considering our home fixture in the finale. A loss tomorrow changes the dynamics of the Southampton game massively. There’s a reason they didn’t shoot to 100-1 or something mid week. Millwall dropping points and us losing would would put them back in play. The fact we don’t have to win tomorrow to keep it in our hands last day is huge. [Post edited 24 Apr 22:35]

| WTF, why is everyone settling for a point tomorrow? on 22:39 - Apr 24 with 1348 views | Nutkins_Return | You realize we don't get to decide. The danger is we now get complacent tomorrow. And West Brom are in promotion form over the last 10 games (9 unbeaten). A loss remains a disaster. We expected Millwall to win. A draw now becomes the same as a win if they had won. Everyone would love 3 points. But a point still puts us the best position we have been in all season. It takes the pressure off the Southampton game and allows us just to have a go at it with a bit more freedom. And whilst no game is a given in the champ you have to back yourself to beat QPR at home. But yes 3 points tomorrow would be incredible. | |

No need to get so upset that you can understand the permutations of Tuesday. You saying it doesn’t suit us is insane.

I'm ribbing you dude, I'm not upset. Apols, I've had a couple of ciders. If I come across as a bit of a knob it's probably because I am, even more so with a bit of apple juice inside me!

No, but it means Soton would need to rely on us dropping points to finish above us. Though in that situation Millwall would probably finish second anyway I suppose.

I don’t think anyone disagrees with you. Of course we go for the win, but we don’t have to panic if we aren’t ahead knowing that a draw still puts us in the box seat
