Think a few people were caught out by the West Bromich heat… 18:45 - Apr 25 with 1580 viewsSitfcB

…3 people taken ill at the stadium today, one in the home end to our left, one in the away end and one in the home end to our right - may not have been down to the heat of course but unusual to see. People forget to have the odd bottle of water and still wear their winter clothes.

Saw far too many coats, and hoodies under football shirts for my liking, felt like a proper summers day.

Wasn't at the game, but been in Kidderminster today. It's been scorching in the sun - proper shorts, t-shirt, hat, sun-cream, and gallons of water weather.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

I was on the furthest seat left of our end close to the guy who went down in the first 45 and it made for a quite weird end to the half as it was not really appropriate to sing or concentrate on the game as the gentleman was being seen to and treated. WBA fans were trying to get the game stopped but there didn’t seem a tonne of urgency from any stewards or others to make that happen.

I only saw the one in the home end sitters mentioned but was on the opposite end to you. Had no idea there were more incidents.

Did they seem ok in the end?

Also the smell of sweat on the walk back to, and on, the tram to New Sreet.

People can normally get away with no shower and/or no deodorant when it's cold.

Was conscious and seemingly ok enough as they took him away in a wheelchair rather than stretcher but was down for probably 10-15 minutes being looked at.

It does partly depend on individual body type and metabolism though - am slim & always feel a bit chilly until it gets to about 25+ C!

Whereas very solidly built ex with plenty of insulation - shirtsleeves in November - fine.

Hope all those affected today are ok.

It was 2 degrees C and thick fog when we left Lowestoft....winter clothes were taken as a precaution, but thankfully left in the car at West Brom!
It was a scorcher.

Didn't help that it was probably hovering just above freezing when people left Ipswich.

Thing is there is a obvious difference between being too hot or too cold. If you're too cold, you can put on as many more layers as you want. If you're too hot, there's only a finite of things you can remove before you either cause yourself an injury or asked to leave the premises.

Saw you and the boy prematch near the Vine pub. Was tempted to ask Robson for an autograph but figured it's unfair to hassle celebrities.
