getting in front of two defenders to put a ball into the net from a cross. If our strikers did that we would be promoted by now. Probably as Champions.
“What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it........."
Also in need of a chairman to implement some checks and balances.
Can’t be assed to get into all that but I’m am really concerned about what’s going on with the cash and the players we are getting in the building. Surely the Americans are seeing it after all these windows.
Even this year we brought McAteer for 12M Southampton got Léo Scienza for 8M. He’s got 7 goals and 10 assists.
The cash we’ve chucked at the RW for the production we’ve got at this level is insane.

No doubt the recruitment has been poor. You could rate it 5/10 if being generous. We’ve overpaid in some areas - 20m man Egeli can’t even get on the bench of late - and failed to get in a better striker than Azon. Mehmeti has faded after a bright start. Dan Neill hasn’t really got going. It hasn’t been great.

And in January we chased after another player who covers the right wing.

No idea whether it will have a direct or even indirect effect on player recruitment quality, but ABSOLUTELY we need a chairman for checks and balances. Big red flag when Ashton gobbled up that job.
We need a proper director of football with international connections running a top recruitment team.
Not a couple of guys that has spent their entire career in the EFL involved with smaller clubs that us.
Yep. This is the difference between us coming straight back down again or moving on to the next step as Forest, Wolves (previously) and Sunderland have done

What do you mean that "20m man Egeli can’t even get on the bench of late"?
He failed to make the bench yesterday, for whatever reason. Other than that, he has featured in the match day squad either starting, or on the bench consistently since mid December.
You seem to be trying to push a narrative that isn't there.
Coventry bought him for 3million from West Brom One of the few Albion players we havnt shown an interest in.
He scored a beast of goal for Albion last time we were in the Championship, took it past 5 players and jammed it home I hoped at the time we might have some I Teresa in him.
I must say I liked the lad up front Heggebo. Thought he held it up well and was a threat in the box. Worth 2-3mil I reckon
Whatever happens in the next 6 days there should be major inquest about our recruitment (again).
I really hope there is going to be a new plan in place whether we go up or not but it concerns me that someone with basically just Oxford and Bristol City on their CV could be in charge of PL money again after what I’ve seen in the last two years.
From the 4 windows I’ve seen since original PL promotion it feels like we need an entire new team running this.
We simply weren't ready recruitment wise last time, understandably as we found ourselves in the Premier League just 3 years after Gamechanger took over. In the end we did the best we could and made sure that at the very least we had a team that gave us the best possible opportunity to go back up, either this season or next. Of course we made mistakes and last summer's recruitment took far too long which put us on the back foot, but off the pitch that side of things are clearly building and hopefully the new training ground will further help us with that.

Yes, they can run all the commercial projects then and we can get people in place with much better experienced outside of the UK.

Ashton Out.
"They break our legs and tell us to be grateful when they offer us crutches."

Who likely wouldn’t have been good enough for the step up to the prem either- shows that we haven’t really moved on from our mistakes in 24/25 and the poor signings that were made then.
