| Well done Lampard. 17:49 - Apr 26 with 1302 views | Nthsuffolkblue | I admit I was wrong. I really didn't think he was a good manager and was delighted we never appointed him but he has done an excellent job getting Coventry playing really good football very effectively. Deservedly won the league with an impressive strike force coupled with a very useful defence. It will be interesting to see how they do in the Premier League next season. Now let's make sure we join them! | |

UK managers, being pedantic. Northern Ireland is not part of Great Britain.

As long as he gets more than one home win next season and doesn't lose the last nine home games in a row, I think Lampard will be doing ok.
| Never forget that on 7th. April 2021, for ITFC, the Game Changed. |

I think Lampard's in a hiding for nothing next season. Just making Coventry competitive for the most part should be enough to garner him respect - anything else is a bonus.

You'd think so, though if Coventry find themeselves relegated anyway, I'm sure that would be of very little comfort. Looking at the way things are shaping up, it would not come as the greatest surprise to me if the bottom third of next seasons PL and the top third of next seasons Championship, aren't too far away from each other in terms of quality. This is most definitely the season to get out of the Championship.

Respect to him for taking Coventry up, but I doubt being manager of Coventry next season will do anything to boost Lampard's credentials as a PL coach.

| Well done Lampard. on 11:29 - Apr 27 with 328 views | _CliveBaker_ | He's done a brilliant job. Taking over when they were struggling, charging up the table and a superb FA cup run where they were robbed in that semi Final against United with the disallowed goal, then unfortunate to lose in the playoffs to Sunderland. Built on that this season and been the best team in the division from day 1 and deserve the title. He did well at Derby to be fair to him. They were a touch unfortunate that they met arguably the strongest side the Championship has ever seen in the playoff final against Villa. | | | |

Mark Robins was the boss when they had that FA Cup semi-final. Credit where it's due, Lampard has done a really great job and he'll go down as a hero in Coventry. He came in and did exactly what was needed, figured out how to get the attack working and signed an experienced CM to knit it all together. I don't buy into the thinking that this season makes him a great manager though. He did inherit a very good squad with a healthy transfer budget, (albeit one that was suffering the inevitable hangover of being "Nearly men" under Robins), and has benefitted from one of the poorest Championship seasons ever, nobody has really stepped up to challenge them. We dismantled them quite routinely, twice, they are in for a real rough ride next season. Let's see how he does once this wave has crashed and they are up against it, his previous Premier League managerial experiences suggest he won't fare too well.

You're right, I'm mixing my drinks on their seasons, that was the year before. That was a great game, shame VAR had to ruin what could've been an all time FA cup moment. I think he deserves a lot of credit, his healthy budget wasn't as healthy as a lot of the sides they were up against this season and they only really reinvested the money they got for Sheaf. To outpace the parachute clubs and likes of Brum and Wrexham as much as they have done deserves a lot of credit. No doubt they could be in for a rough time next season, but isn't that true of most who make that step. [Post edited 27 Apr 12:10]
