It was the game where Derby wasted about 20 minutes of the game going down with 'concussions' every time there was a contested ball in the air or 'broken legs' every time there was a challenge. Plus their keeper died about 3 times too. Physio must have been on a good 7 or 8 times. Never seen time wasting like it and glad the ref made an example of them

Though there is this response presumably from a Town fan That second half at Portman Road was the most embarrassing away performance I’ve ever seen by a team in the same division, your players falling over and feigning injury dozens of times. Pathetic | | | | Login to get fewer ads

It was a shocking display, they completely deserved vast amounts of injury time and to concede

Obviously the Derby penalty was a smokescreen to disguise the conspiracy theory that the FA really really want us to go up - it certainly makes you think.

On the same day, 30/08/2025, there was 23 minutes of additional time at The Den for Millwall to find an equaliser against Wrexham. They could not find it and Wrexham added a second from O’Brien in 90+18. I remember the Millwall fans complaining then about the Wrexham time wasting and feigning injury, so perhaps we just managed our extra time more efficiently. That Derby game was everything that is wrong with football and really made me wonder if I wanted to continue to witness that type of game. We always expect a bit of this as part of the game, and usually it is annoying but acceptable, and we certainly try it on when needed, but I have never witnessed anything as bad as that Derby game.

Arguably, these things even themselves out over 46 games & at the end of the season, the league table rarely lies (apart from the 1980/81 Division 1).

Yes, Derby really did embarrass themselves that day and suck all the joy out of football. I couldn’t believe what I was watching. It even outshone a game against Watford several years ago, Andy Durso I think was ref, where their time wasting was so obviously taking the P*** out of the ref and yet he let them carry on doing it.

Was that the 'bright young thing of English coaching' Aidy Boothroryd Watford team? They were an absolute disgrace to pay to watch.

Yes, Hirst should've had a penalty, instead got a yellow card for being fouled in the area.

But back to the moaning of other clubs. Every team can point to penalties for, penalties against. Missed chances and defensive mistakes. Referees decisions, lino's decisions. Added time, not added time, Fergie time. The season is littered with gripes about officialdoms decisions. It has even been shouted from the house tops "We need VAR" in the Championship. Well get into the Premier League then and pay through the nose to get it installed and find out what a balls ache it is.

And Boothroyd spent 7 years coaching the England U19, U20 & U21 teams. Another England U21 manager in recent times has been Stuart Pearce. Anyone wonder why the England team has been shown to be technically deficient?

Lol, no way did he write that, surely got someone to do it for him/her that's been to school. Well at least we have something in common with said fan. No one likes us now either, and I'm loving it!
