Idea for a full house on Saturday 22:05 - Apr 28 with 6283 viewsJ2BLUE

Edit: Edited thread title just in case that Facebook Reform supporter post is based on them getting the wrong end of the stick about this thread. I don't want to

Not looking to goad anyone who is or mock anyone who is planning to go after not going to previous games. I'm going somewhere with this (and no, not after your ticket!).

Edit: Idea further down if anyone wanted to see it.

I think a lot of people are quietly protesting because there are a couple of aggressive posters on here who will shout down those who remain vocal against Ashton.

It makes it difficult to gauge the current strength of hatred towards Ashton and determination that he has to go but, from upvotes and downvotes alone it is clearly heavily dividing the fanbase still.

That is entirely on Ashton (and Gamechanger for not dealing with him).

I will give you a clue.

Theres next to no hatred for Ashton apart from a very small few on here who keep bleating on and on about it.

You can pretend theres loads quietly protesting, but like Nunez and Norwich, its in your head.

I am not one who planned to boycott so not sure if this response is really relevant, but I have found since all the Ashton stuff my attitude towards the club is now similar to how things were under Evans. I want the team to do well, I support the players, manager and staff, and am still pleased when we win, sad when we don't. However, I no longer assume those at the top making decisions are always putting the club first, I don't assume a level of competence that I did before, and I will therefore no longer give the benefit of the doubt when issues arise regarding decisions made by Ashton and those above him. I still think Ashton should be replaced in his role at the earliest opportunity.

4 downvotes...maybe my fault for not being clear.

I was going to suggest, those that want to, sponsor people who were staying away to go to this game with donations to Hope Not Hate.

I was testing the water seeing how many people were staying away.

My reasoning is that it would be great to have a full bouncing stadium with no empty seats at all. Also, the likes of Rommers have followed Town around the country. Bankster and his daughter have had STs for years. They deserve to see this moment.

So I was thinking, they could go safe in the knowledge that something positive and real was being done.

Not going to do an official Go Fund Me or whatever, people can directly donate their own amounts and i'll keep a tally...if there is any appetite for it.

We’ve had what, 6-7 games since.

There’s about 10 people on here that can think about nothing else, they're best ignored.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

Oooh calm down dear. No need for nasty words.

If you can show me proof of the anti Ashton feeling, I will apologise.

However, I am ruling out 5 posters on here, before you point in their direction.

We had 2nd biggest crowd vs ‘Boro so it’s obviously not been happening at any significant level. No need to ask the question when the evidence has already presented itself.

How on earth did you expect someone to get from your opening post to your second paragraph?

Not sure that trying to gauge opinion with a vague post that was likely to annoy a few in it's form is a particularly good idea.

They claimed that after the Ed intervention, assurances were made he was all but gone and cancelled the protest. I think it was a get out of jail free card myself after the support for the protest was so low.

I said I wasn't looking to goad anyone and that I was going somewhere with the question.

Disagree, I'm part of a WhatsApp group that has over 200 Town fans in it, the overwhelming majority want to see him gone but most have no desire to do things that might derail the season.

I think you're in cloud cuckoo land if you think there's a few odd bods who are anti Ashton.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

So rather than “going somewhere” why not just ask the question clearly?

It’s not a courtroom in some crappy TV drama.

I knew people would think I was looking to mock people so i tried to make it clear I wasn't and that I was asking for a reason. I have no idea how many people are still boycotting so didn't know if it would make any sense.

Yes but there were very few empty seats around my area, and as I looked around the ground likewise seemed pretty full.

Hence my comment about not happening at a significant level.

I would love to see the facts behind this "overwhelming majority".

Sadly, I suspect I will be disappointed, mainly due to the fact they dont exist.

Also "inadequate" does not equate to "not ok", but most on here would have got the distinction. I have to spell it out for you.
