| Anyone still planning to boycott Saturday? on 08:31 - Apr 29 with 541 views | waveneyblue | Another magnificent thread from the annuals of TWTD. Poster with different views to the TWTD Groovy Gang, asks for facts to back up wild statements (portrayed as fact) and gets dogs abuse from the Groovy Gang. All played out with (you guessed it) zero facts provided (obviously) Glorious stuff. Ps. There must be a special WhatsApp group, as the way all of you turn up en masse is quite impressive. Even an appearance from the end boss BigAl in the votes. | | | |

What facts? That some people have a different view from you? That should be self evident by, oh I dunno, people generally having different views on everything in life. Or are you suggesting that we should be contacting IPSOS to get them to perform an official poll to satisfy your impossible request? I don't see anyone claiming that there is a majority view that people want Ashton out, nor that anyone who wants Ashton out thinks that everyone should agree with them. I totally respect your view that you don't care about any of this. It's a bit sad that you can't respect people's views who do. FWIW, I could be the only person in the world who wants Ashton out, and it wouldn't change my view. It's not a popularity contest, I have my principles and I stand by them. But well done you for winning an argument in your head.

Your either a troll or an idiot. I'll assume the former. It's a bit of a shame that you don't appear to have learned from the last time you went down this road, when you got very heated and had to take some time away from the board. Ultimately, I want Ashton out, you do not... and that is fine. It's not a war I need to win that I think everyone needs to come around to my way of thinking.

we're now quite a few weeks on from ashton's cock up. from the club's perspective the impact has been pretty close to zero. most people have simply forgotten. a tiny proportion of the fan base are annoyed politically, but the chances of the club sacking someone who has overseen the transformation of the club and, hopefully, 3 promotions has to be very low. it would be a pointless disruption for no good reason. so people who are still upset probably need to come to terms with him being here going forward. that involves stopping banging on about it.

A few points on this. 1) This has nothing to do with politics for me. I accept that for many it may, but for me it is about trust. 2) I suspect the club won't sack him, you are correct. I came to terms with this a long time ago 3) None of the above is enough to sway my opinion and nor should it, imho. I am not here banging on about it as (I mentioned earlier) there are more important considerations at the moment. The only reason I am posting now is because of an either trolling or ill-conceived OP that stoked this debate again for no good reason that I can see, and it brought out the usual candidates on both sides of the debate.

| Anyone still planning to boycott Saturday? on 22:22 - Apr 28 by rkc123 | I am not one who planned to boycott so not sure if this response is really relevant, but I have found since all the Ashton stuff my attitude towards the club is now similar to how things were under Evans. I want the team to do well, I support the players, manager and staff, and am still pleased when we win, sad when we don't. However, I no longer assume those at the top making decisions are always putting the club first, I don't assume a level of competence that I did before, and I will therefore no longer give the benefit of the doubt when issues arise regarding decisions made by Ashton and those above him. I still think Ashton should be replaced in his role at the earliest opportunity. [Post edited 28 Apr 22:43]

| Anyone still planning to boycott Saturday? on 11:03 - Apr 29 with 399 views | Cafe_Newman | Football can be everything and anything - but mostly it is about escapism from a sh1tty world. There are a million reasons to hate football but some how it always sucks you back in. I love a club owned by an American financial service company with no Suffolk players currently representing the team on eye-watering wages with a CEO who allowed a dangerous racist access to our cathedral. If you can turn a blind eye to part of it, you can ignore all of it in the name of escapism and for your health. | |

there are probably many people i don't 'trust' in one way or another. but i don't make them my avatar and demand them 'out'. i suspect for that there has to be something more that 'trust'.

Like I said before, I couldn't care less if everyone agrees with me or no one does. I have my views. They align with some, they don't with others. This makes me neither part of a gang nor playing to "the gang". I am confident enough in my beliefs not to need validation that I am part of some group or another. I also like to think that I have enough humility that my views can change if I am presented with strong enough evidence of where I may be incorrect, I would hasten to add that the main reason that this thread has now pushed to 3 pages is because the 3rd post in this thread is this gem: Anyone still planning to boycott Saturday? by waveneyblue 28 Apr 22:14I will give you a clue.

There were sponsors who didn't take to kind to it, I wouldn't have thought that's been swept under the carpet as yet Promotion is the big fish to fry at the moment. But I wouldnt be suprised if we get promoted saturday that Reform and Farage will be posting the sht out of it and the whole thing dampens the mood of the promotion unfortunately.

we'll see. i'm sure the sponsors will have received apologies and promises of no repeat. equally i'm pretty sure promotion would make the sponsors happy enough that their name is being seen. a hypothetical congratulatory post from farage is neither here nor there and can very easily be ignored if people so chose.

Considering you're an active X user you know it's not just some people on here........ Why does it bother you that there are people that have different thoughts to you? no one is claiming the whole fanbase is bothered, however you are the only person that's saying it's only people on here that is. There are many people it bothers, over various platforms, some not on platforms. PHIL as confirmed that sponsors were bothered, is that proof for you or do you need a written statement? You may disagree with it, but there are companies that have absolutely no wish to be associated with reform or Farage in anyway, so whilst farage waving a flag won't bother you, if they use the social platform to link their party with town and sponsors are included - for example those on the press board backround, No they won't be happy about it despite it being about promotion. As sponsors and probable town fans in associated, of course they'll be happy with the promotion itself, but companies tread a fine line when it comes to exposure.
