| Penalties this season 18:22 - Apr 30 with 892 views | Vic | I keep seeing salty comments on various social media about getting a lot of iffy pens this season. Has anyone done the stats of pens for and against us, and how many have been 'fortunate' and on the flip side of that, how many we think we should have had but not got? | |

| Penalties this season on 18:38 - Apr 30 with 817 views | Garv | Penalties given off the top of my head; Birmingham away - handball - a touch fortunate but reasonable. Bristol away - Akpom's ankles supposedly clipped - soft but again reasonable Derby at Home - foul on Taylor as he entered the box - basically a nailed on pen. Boro away - hands on the shoulder of Davis - would say this one was very soft and a bit of a dive. Lucky. Preston home - foul on Clarke - dive for me but there was a stonewall shout a few minutes after that wasn't given. Sheffield Utd - fairly blatant handball. Norwich away - soft and not much contact if any but I think it's completely valid the referee gave this one. Maybe not as blatant as it looked live but the officials don't have the benefit of a replay. Charlton away - Furlong clipped - think most people have accepted this was a valid call? Boro home - arms on Hirst - very soft, stupid of the defender but lucky on the basis that those don't often get given. Mixed bag. I've missed a few obviously. | |

Don't forget to include the nailed on penalties we were not given and had subsequent apologies for. They all seem to forget about those

And, who actually cares what other fans think?

I did have a look at the pinkun last week - comedy gold. First there’s some sort of conspiracy to help us to go up. But then it’s the worst championship ever. With the worst ever promoted teams going up - but they are now a great team despite not going up. And we’ll be lucky to make double points next season. And they’ll storm the league next season.

That wasn’t in my mind at all tbh - more just a sense of curiosity as to what we town fans really feel about them. Do we, when we’re not wearing our blue glasses, recognise that we’ve been fortunate or have the soft pens (of which we’ve had a few) been balanced out by those we should have been given.

I think you will find the the Boro player had his arms completely wrapped around Hirst waist , pen all day long .

Did you see the Nodge pen vs Swansea recently? It was an absolute nonsense. Zero contact. Ball went out. Nodge player threw himself into the goalkeeper. Truly bizarre.
| Penalties this season on 22:42 - Apr 30 with 159 views | Vaughan8 | The way the games going, a lot of penalties are "soft". social media is very odd. When our game vs Blackburn got called off (through no fault of us) we seemed to get a lot of stick for not giving Blackburn the win. | | | |

Presumably being awarded ten penalties in a season was perfectly fine and normal back in 2021...
