Who are you voting for in the Council elections tomorrow? on 07:52 - May 7 by chicoazul
You are vaguely correct but the only language these people understand or respond to is lack of action, not action. Apathy and disengagement. Bear in mind all these parties think the same thing about Voter ID.
Do they?
Afaik labour, reform, and Tories state that it stops fraud (no evidence of fraud or that it stops any) though I think labour have a review coming up so may act against it. Greens, lib Dems and SNP say it discourages voting

Well at least this confirms the already well noticed leftist tendency of this board, even if it's just among those who post about politics or respond to political polls.

About 30% of the vote is for the left and about 27% is for the right, with the rest pretty central, so I guess it's all pretty even - whether that reflects general trends or proves this board is an outlier, I don't yet know.

I agree with you on all the authoritarian moves this government made.
However, I disagree that they will be bothered if chicoazul doesn’t turn up to vote.

I’m not voting and neither should any of you, the disenfranchisement of so many people due to Voter ID, brought in to solve a problem that does not exist, is utterly disgusting
Then you should spoil your paper - "big nob" on the ballot paper. It's a protest that is counted.
I have spoilt my papers when I do not think there is a suitable candidate; but most commonly I have had a "suitable candidate".

TWTD is an outlier, educational levels are on average higher here. You have to be able to read and if you reply to be able to put semi-coherent sentences together.

Not sure anyone's posted this, but thought it was interesting, particularly for those looking to vote tactically today. Second piece on the limitations of the projection.

I've seen that projection shared a few times, and it seems hugely implausible.
I think there is a very good chance that Reform get control, but that sort of margin seems way out. The 2023 district elections in Suffolk saw huge wins fir the greens, and they are more popular now than they were then. The (unscientific) poll here supports that.
Also, for all the talk of this election being a judgement of Starmer, what on earth does it say about Badenoch that the tories are predicted to see a complete wipe out?
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Sadly, I think there is a good chance it is correct given in Kent last year virtually all seats went from Tory to Reform.
And this is what Sam Freedman says.
"In the other three, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk, no party other than the Conservatives has ever had a majority but they will all go the same way as Kent did last year, with Reform essentially replacing the Tories."

I'm sceptical to a degree as well, for similar reasons. The Greens' popularity has been a more recent development and that may not be accurately reflected in the model. There's also tactical voting, which I think will have an impact, probably more than is usually the case in local elections.
