I see reform are continuing to use the club to sow division 20:22 - May 9 with 7904 viewsDublinBlue84

This is exactly what they do, use people for their own publicity and sow division.

And they'll keep doing it.

Ok, but they did win so enough people in Suffolk voted for them. You might not like it but that's what happened.

But there's no reason to bring Ipswich Town into it, other than to antagonise.

It’s because they’re low IQ banter merchants who prey on the gullible. And it works, sadly.

They really are mocking the club and rubbing many of our supporters noses in the dirt now, no doubt there are a proportion of Reform supporters amongst us and they are fully entitled to vote for them in a democratic world but the sheer gall of this party propaganda is right up there with their cheap political tricks.

Let’s be honest, you’ve jumped on this for a popularity contest , you literally crave attention more than mark Ashton.

Makes me genuine feel a bit queasy being thanked by those c**ts!

Mute point, but they're not even close to being in charge of Ipswich council.

Surely even Reform voters can see how grating it is, would they want Starmer thanking them as Ipswich fans for voting labour? Pathetic.

Isn't that predominantly down to only a third of the seats being fought? From those, Labour lost nine seats and Reform gained ten. If the full council had been up for the vote...

Hence me saying mute point, but it's still a fact that it's not Ipswich they're in control of, hence them using a different council to the one the picture was taken in.

And yes I messed up and it's moot point, and I think even then it's the wrong meaning, but you get the jist, I agree with what you say but it's not actually happened.

Thats what gets my goat. The club should sue reform for unauthorised use of our brand.

Quite apparent that it's authorised.

Ashton knew they weren't taking picture in the dressing room and on the pitch just for giggles.

He got a signed shirt out of it as consideration.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

I think we know your view of the CEO. And of Ipswich Town. You wanted the latter, literally in black and white, to never be promoted again. In other words, go out of business. It’s your opinion which you are perfectly entitled to, yet you are still posting on the forum of a club you don’t support? I’m just puzzled.

Reform or an individual clearly posted that to stir it up and you bit. It was best left as social media nonsense, which is exactly what it is. Again, up to you. It’s clearly achieved what it intended.

One last time, the club is not the CEO or even the owners to whom he’s an employee. I don’t know whether you bothered with last Saturday (I guess not), but those in the ground, those following from afar, the local area is my club. In my view, it will be quietly be restructured this summer.

Bit much calling anyone c**ts

You might not like it but it’s a political party same as all the others and whichever one you prefer. And they just won a lot of votes. Be an adult at the very least.

Fair enough calling out the language. Some people care passionately about this and they hate to see their club being used in this way.
Ashton opened the door for this.
I don't want my club associated with Reform and it sickens me to hear Farage thanking Town fans for their votes.
What are your thoughts on the club being used in this way?
We have never been aligned with any party and nor should we.
We are now. You might not like it, but that's on Ashton.
I might not choose to call him a c***, but I can understand why others might.
Just as an aside, do you sing the "poor little budgie song"?

"I don't want to be like everyone else. That's why I'm a mod, see?"

Some fans hate it, yes that’s probably true. Some others don’t, that’s probably true as well. Accept you might not see the world the same as others.

Being passionate is no excuse for bad or abusive language.

So Reform tried to use the club. Ignore them or take the mickey out of them, they’ll go away. Just as the spying stuff will drift away from Southampton if they laugh at it as they did today.

I’ve made my views known about politics and the football club or football in general. I don’t even want to see a boxer on the front row of the directors box or a CEO in the dressing room.

Cobbold stood for election as a Tory MP in 1959. The 21st century me would have found that annoying at best. Sport and politics are oil and water, unless you are the Russian Olympic winter sports team.

You are wrong. We are not aligned politically with anybody. Do you seriously think anybody last weekend thought ‘oooh Nige will be pleased?’. I doubt it. People are not that stupid.

There will be some that like Reform but I bet their only thought was wanting their club to succeed. Supporters of other clubs? Nobody I know has mentioned it and while a few will use it as a stick or ridicule opportunity, who the heck cares? Not me.

I don’t know Ashton, not met him, don’t wish to, but while I’d challenge him to his face on certain things, I’d never use bad language towards him to his face, anymore than I would to anyone else or anyone on social media - unless they used it on me first.
