Heroic work, and worth a statue at least

Got the scared inadequates blubbing. All it needed was a part 2 saying aren't LGBTQ people brilliant as well, and that would have been perfect.

The response although fairly muted is still frightening. There was nothing on there that was offensive or untrue. Immigrants have made a great contribution to the UK for centuries. Many of the knuckledraggers shouting “off, off” or trying to turn the screen off with have no doubt cheered on many of those immigrant sportspeople or musicians without even thinking about it.

Churchill was half American, the King is half Greek. They were singing We Are The Champions on other vids I've seen - a song written and performed by a gay guy from Africa.

Some of them were carrying crosses, so they must be all believers in the biblical creation story, obviously. The site of the Garden of Eden is thought to be in Iran or Iraq. Not Holywells Park.

HOPE not hate doing great work too. (Posted already in another thread)

I received this from Hope not Hate today.
We CAN push back if we support organisations like this.

Today, Tommy Robinson’s supporters are marching through London.

As someone who already supports HOPE not hate, I wanted to tell you directly about the work your support is helping make possible today.

Right now, we’re running a major operation to interrupt Tommy Robinson’s online influence in real time.

We're distrupting Tommy in real time
We’re targeting the apps, livestreams and online spaces where his supporters gather. We’re putting evidence in front of people before Robinson’s network can control the narrative And we’re showing people who Tommy Robinson really is: a far-right grifter who profits from division and fear.

We couldn’t say much about this publicly beforehand.

But today, while Robinson’s supporters try to dominate the headlines and flood social media, we will be there too, disrupting, exposing and pushing back.

When Robinson’s supporters tune in to watch the demo live, many will see our ads before they reach his allies’ livestreams and YouTube channels.

Those ads use the words of Robinson’s own former allies and supporters, calling him out as a grifter and questioning the way he exploits the movement he claims to lead.

When people are in the area of the march, we’ll reach them with geo-located ads that put the facts directly in front of them.

And when people Google his name, the demo, or the claims his supporters are pushing, our paid search ads will surface detailed investigations into his history, criminal record, networks and funding.

Alongside that, we’ll be posting factual information throughout the day about who Robinson really is: his long history of racism, his two-decade criminal record, and the truth behind the victim act he sells to his supporters.

The far right do not just organise on the streets. They organise through livestreams, search results, group chats, outrage clips and algorithms that reward the most divisive content.

Their aim is not just to reach their own supporters. It is to make the rest of us feel powerless, isolated and overwhelmed.

They are better connected, better funded and more online than ever before.

So if we are going to keep up, we have to move faster, try new tactics and meet them in the spaces where their propaganda spreads.

Because we refuse to hand the internet over to the far right.

Today, we’re meeting them where they are: online, in search results, on video platforms, and in the spaces where their propaganda spreads, and this work is only possible because of your support.

"I don't want to be like everyone else. That's why I'm a mod, see?"

Quite. I don’t understand where their hatred comes from. It’s not a place of reality and logic.

It would help if society in general took notice of these facts.

If you are hurling abuse at every member of the Muslim faith because of the actions of Hamas or similar deranged idealogues, you're a imbecilic cretin.

If you are hurling abuse at every Jew because of the actions of the Netanyahu government, you're an imbecilic cretin.

Antisemitism and Islamophobia are both vile, disgusting, and should be unequivocally condemned in all it's forms.

It's not a competition.

What were the police surrounding it trying to do? One officer takes a photo of it, another appears to be trying to turn it off too.

Absolutely. Any racist abuse (or abuse based on any other protected characteristic) is vile. It certainly shouldn’t be a competition even if sadly it sometimes can turn into one, especially once politics is brought into it.

I have nothing against immigration those that want to make this beautiful country of ours great.

It’s the young men on the dinghy’s which is wrong.

For most, I think, it's an instinctive, lumpen response to a vague realisation that a low grade intellect has prevented them from contributing to the United Kingdom in the way that so many immigrants have.

Decent people don't go on a racist march organised by criminals who are openly racist.

I'm sure there are a decent few, and I don't think they're all racists.
I said "the knuckledraggers" - I think we all know the type I mean, who make up a large percentage of those chanting/marching.

The proof is in that video. They believe in free speech/airing their concerns... and yet try to turn off an ad van that's just showing facts.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

"the young men on the dinghy’s" have been reduced 37% compared to last year, and it's continuing to decline. Still interested to understand why you believed the data about the scale of the "problem" when agitators were shouting about it but don't believe the same data when it reports the "problem" shrinking...

I agree.

Decent people should absolutely call out things that have been hijacked by extremists - like that phrase and the cross of St George.

Not sure if you're intentionally resorting to Forrest Gump signoffs to signal the level of discussion that's to be expected, but not especially surprised otherwise.
