Something doesn't quite smell right there.

You'd have thought he'd have been made aware of the rigours of the role when he applied to be a general candidate, let alone when it came to being selected for the by-election.

No doubt all of the candidates will come under the heaviest of scrutiny in what is bound to be an incredibly unpleasant campaign.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

In which case it feels very bold of the Greens to run with the whole 'spending more time with family' angle.

It certainly doesn't pass even the most cursory of sniff tests, and you'd imagine the 'nothing to see here' approach will just goad whichever outlet it is into running the piece.

starmer says he will campaign for burnham in makerfield. that'll teach him.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

I dunno, there's a lot of bloody awkward NHS managers who'd have been REALLY awkward about changing rotas, giving annual leave for campaigning, etc, etc

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

The Reform candidate seems to be deleting all of his social media to hide his racists posts.

Looks like everyone is doing their best to give Burnham a free run. Except Starmer who will come up to remind everybody whe they hate Labour.

edit. In one post, Kenyon suggested that he’d "love to smell & lick" Carole Vorderman's "arsehole." Not quite sure that is a vote winner.

Possibly, but sometimes things look better on paper than in reality - a bit like when we signed Cameron Stewart.

Or as you mentioned, a newspaper had decided to run a story on him which is an induction of how serious some publications are taking the Greens.

I’m assuming that it’s a right-wing tabloid but could be totally wrong.

Haha well played.
Although complaining about what I was not saying is a little different to commenting on your relentless Green Party attacks.
Looks like you the Mail and the Telegraph want to keep them as marginal as possible

Hardly an attack dear boy. Merely a comment in such a quick turnaround.

You have to admits that it's rather farcical.

Labour have a career politician, Reform have a Neo-Fascist who wants to shove his tongue up Carol Vorderman's arsehole, and the Greens have a bloke who lasted less than 9 hours. I haven't got a clue who the Tories and the Lib Dems have put up but I'm sure they are representative of the dross we seem to be served with these days.

There, I think i've covered all parties in the interest of balance.

Interesting point on which side/s of the political divide the newspaper sits … in this day and age it really could be any.

Yup, pretty easy to guess the ones who’ll have their tongues firmly up his council gritter…

Politically, what a time to be alive.

Mrs Thatcher became Conservative candidate for Dartford in 1949 when only 24.

But your general point about the low calibre of politicians these days is correct.

Or is it just the case that things were simpler and more black and white then?
