He's had some headcase moments which you can't defend. But look into his background deeper and some of the things he had done which deserve some credit.

No more of a tw@t than Norwood and when he was here most here seemed to want to ignore his misdemeanours .
I wasn’t against signing him when we were linked before and had we we’d probably have got promoted with a lot more ease.
If we didn’t have Hirst then yeah I’d take him as our 2nd striker but Hirst isn’t going anywhere and we need a top level striker, so can’t see why we’d take him. |  |

This thread is very weird.
I've not commented about any of his past actions at all, all I said was that if the opening poster wanted a fuller picture he could look at his history on Wiki.
Some really bizarre voting and responses, very strange indeed, almost like people aren't actually reading what I have written.

Well you went rather strong calling someone a thug for something they were acquitted of if my memory is correct. Seems a bit unfair doesn’t it? He obviously has made some poor decisions including a drink driving charge, which unfortunately isn’t unique to him in society, or even with professional footballers, including those that previously played for Ipswich.
People deserve second chances, millions of lads play football, some of those that make it aren’t going to all be Matt Holland. If he’s matured and now progressed in his career, then good for him. I remember a few people losing it when we were linked with him as well. | |

Town were linked with loads of players this summer we don’t really know any if:
1) The links were correct
2) If we decided not to move forward, the reasons why.
If the link was serious and McKenna did look at him and decide against it either for football reasons or because he wasn’t the type of personality/man he wanted in the dressing room, then that’s good enough for me.
Just don’t love people being labeled as this and that when a court found him not guilty and we don’t really know much on how the individual has matured or got back on track in the years since any legal issues.
Regardless, a great season for him and Hull so fair play to them. | |
