Hopefully not a first clue of the new kit being teased 15:42 - May 28 with 4023 viewsburnbudgiesburn

Unpopular opinion I guess, I really hated the 1992-3 lace up kit with white sleeves (did at the time too!)

There's only so much variation on blue you can do though, we are probably due white sleeves again.

The laces are horrendous, as is the shield behind the badge. But we did stay up wearing that kit…

I'd quite like us to adopt white sleeves/blue body as the permanent format of our kits - like QPR with hoops, River Plate with their stripe, Arsenal with the white sleeves/red body. Lots of teams play in blue but always being the same format would make our kit design more unique to us.

I'd be happy to have the white sleeves if done well. The collar will be hard to do in a stylish way and obviously won't have the laces. I think just small hints of red and not much and it could be cool.

If we have to have white sleeves go the full 1961 kaboodle and lets be having some hooped blue and white socks!

I loved that kit and from I remember was the fastest selling in the country at the start of that season.

Micky Stockwell is who I always conjure up with that one.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

I didn't mind the laces, some others with umbro also had them. Bringing them back would be a risk. Some players these days seem unable to resist pulling anything dangling, they would find them tempting

Never forget that on 7th. April 2021, for ITFC, the Game Changed.

Hope not, a recreation of the 89-92 kit would definitely be better

Hmmmm, would pulling those laces during a game, be the equivalent of pulling hair, you could choke somebody doing that. ( I said that last bit with a pretty good impersonation of Lynn Faulds Wood)

Yeah would like to see the return of the this classic in the modern era.

Bloody love an Ipswich kit with white sleeves, would like to see that being made a permanent feature - gives uniqueness.

YUK! Whoever came up with the original design should have gone to specsavers before they did it.

Purely out if interest..

For those who like the white sleeves, did you grow up watching Town during 92-94 / 97-99 when we had them?

I’ve seen a few people mention the white sleeves before but I absolutely hate them. I started going in 99 though so wonder if it’s because I just don’t associate them with being very Town like.

The three white sleeve kits we’ve had (13/14, 16/17 & 18/19) would rank as the bottom 3 of the 21 homes shirts we’ve had in that time for me.

Hope we steer well clear.

Seen lots of different home kits in my time, the only consistency being that shirts mainly blue and shorts mainly white, even one in the 90s where the tops of the body and sleeves were blue with the rest white, so as long as it's mainly blue (with the badge) they're what I recognise as a Town shirt.

Having said that the shirt on which we became Champions of England and then competed in the European Cup was blue body with white sleeves and collar so I'd have that colour design again, with the club badge on of course.

Yeah, all the nonsense we’ve got to look forward at corners next season will make them an elf ‘n’ safety no-no.

Good question.

As someone in their mid-sixties I’m nearly old enough to recall the title winning shirt of 1962 with the white sleeves, but I have to admit to much preferring the classic all blue shirt of the 70’s and that glorious one with the white pinstripes the season after the UEFA cup win.

Yeah, I'd have started going in 1993. Then there's the one we became champions of England in.

Always struck me that blue shirt, white shorts, blue socks could be any of a dozen teams in the 92. Don't think there's anyone else that has the white sleeves, blue body combo, certainly not consistently.

Fair.

My first memories of Town were early 80's so all blue shirts were the norm until the white sleeves were re-introduced in 1992

Probably why it feels un-Ipswich to me despite it being absolutely fine and historically our kit. We won the league in it after all.

I think I hated that kit because it didn't look that good on the team, everyone looked like Jack Clarke in it. Especially Chris Kiwomya! Mind you baggy was a trend in the early 90's, I think Villa and United had retro lace up kits as well.

I refuse to buy another replica shirt until it's first day of season 1972 copy!
The white sleeves were a direct copy of Arsenal back when we turned pro at the suggestion of the Hillwoods to the Cobbolds being old Etonian muccas. They also sent us some seats for the East stand.

White sleeves, red trim would do nicely. The laces can get in the bin. Not sure they'd even pass health and safety these days.
