| I don't think KM will take another job 10:26 - Jun 12 with 1658 views | RIPbobby | The prospect of Kieran McKenna accepting another demanding managerial position remains highly questionable, particularly when evaluating the alternative avenues available to him. From a strategic standpoint, transitioning into high-profile sports media presents a compelling case. Having commanded a salary of approximately £5 million per year over the last two seasons, financial necessity is no longer a driving factor. Moving into the studio would allow him to maintain a vital connection to football entirely free from the acute stress of elite management. Given his tactical genius, he would offer audiences a level of insight that few contemporary pundits can match, exchanging the relentless pressure of the touchline for a highly lucrative and comfortable media career. Concurrently, questions must be raised regarding the internal dynamics between McKenna and Chief Executive Mark Ashton. It is entirely plausible that friction developed regarding recruitment strategy, specifically whether players were secured who did not align with the manager's tactical vision. Whilst Ashton's achievements in transforming the infrastructure and commercial standing of the club are indisputably remarkable, his public persona occasionally verges on the self-aggrandising. Such a clash of personalities and philosophies may well have precipitated a breakdown in their professional relationship. But I offer no inside information so that analysis is pure speculation. | | | | |

I always think he has his notes on a piece of paper down and to his right, he constantly stares down there before nervously occasionally looking up at the camera/interviewer. I cannot imagine your scenario at all. He just wants some time with his kids having barely seen them grow up for 5 years and wanted a summer rebuilding his family not another team.

To debate? Surely that's what we have this group for? You either agree or not?

That is one thing that I don't have a problem with. I have no problem with him at all? I care not for left, right or centre.

I believe the key to our success was how he gets the best out of players and builds a unit - you could see that in the unity the team had, and when there were issues, he removed what he felt was the problem individuals. As for Ashton, he is a commercial minded CEO, but the so called clash of personalities is being massively overplayed - you don't build successful teams if your leadership group is disfunctional. I trust what McKenna has said, as I have never had reason not to. He will be back in a dugout within 6-12 months and will have a hugely successful career, but he felt he needed the break and it was a good time to take it. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

If I wanted to "debate" with AI I'd do it directly rather than having to use you as a proxy

| I don't think KM will take another job on 13:06 - Jun 12 with 299 views | Alberto_the_frog | He's been a good manager, but I don't think anyone can claim the status of technical genius for him. The closest he came to a technical innovation was the early adoption of five substitutes, when he had a deep enough squad at the level not to weaken the starting team. | |
