Be more interesting watching Sloths sleep. It's what happens when you dilute quality in pursuit of quantity, and compound the issue by playing games in baking heat and depending on venue, high humidity. Top it all off, in a country that calls football " soccer " and what they call football is much more like rugby played in a suit of armour.

Hmmm
- Qatar getting a result against credible European opposition?
- Come back win for S.Korea!
- Canada really open game with plenty of chances….
- Hosts smashing team that beat Argentina and Brazil in qualifying!
Every team outside of SA has scored in the first 5 games. You’re narrative is false if you look at the first few days of most recent world cups, this has probably been the best.
Enjoyed the US effort and seeing Switzerland mugged at the end, but it’s felt very subdued. It may be the acoustics /tv etc but once some of the mismatches are done, I I’m hoping it’ll improve.

Politically, it's another mess. For entertainment? There is no way anyone can complain so far. It's been quite entertaining. Qatar - Switzerland was our only let down so far, and the ending was an entertaining one in the end!

I’m starting to think a lot of you don’t like football as much as you think you do. The ticket prices are criminal and combined with the attitude of a lot of North Americans towards football the atmospheres are going to suffer. The kick off times are also annoying but timezones exist so what are you gonna do.
Personally I like having more teams, means more group stage games (the best part of any tournament) and it’s the World Cup. Even though FIFA is massively corrupt and one of the host nations in particular have done an appalling job of it’s still the World Cup and it’s still worth watching when it’s on in the summer.

They’ll still complain because it’s their narrative, it’s all some of these idiots do.

Brazil Morocco and Holland Japan is a class first weekend to the World Cup after some decent games already.

I think we all watch it in different ways. For me especially tournaments i like to feel the game hear the chants in the backround, watch some good quality football on show etc. But some times esp the earlier game reminded me of watching non league football but with less action.

What are you banging on about though? At least back it up. Larin who split O’Shea and Greaves a few months ago scored another hell of a goal yesterday, the South Korea winner? The US goals last night?
The start of this game for the first time we have seen top 10 teams… non league FFS, clueless!

It really hasn’t, every game outside the US has been within a goal and we’ve not seen a top 10 nation yet. Italia 90 group stage was basically the same if not worse.
Yeah, but Italia 90 wasn’t in America…
In all seriousness, too many teams, too many games, ‘4 quarters’, too much heat, crap kick off times, constant VAR and a country who (largely) can’t stand the sport.

You don’t really have much idea of what you’re talking about unfortunately.
-Why would the World Cup in America start at 6am local time to suit you? -Was the VAR that reversed the diving stuff last night bad? -Did the PL have water breaks in Liverpool at the end of the season when it was 18 Degrees? -Have you ever been in America during a World Cup before? Did you see the scenes last night in LA?
America has got a pretty knowledgeable fanbase and it’s patriotic enough everyone gets into during the World Cup.
Also just turn it off it will be much better on people that want to have fun. Qatar R1 had games won by 5-6 goals, 0-0 games and was in the middle of winter, yet apparently this is a bad start to a summer tournament.
People are so miserable and don’t want the to enjoy anything I swear.

I'm assuming you also didn't watch a second of the World Cups in Qatar or Russia either then.
Joker.
😂
I didn't. The last World Cup I watched was in Brazil.
And to make it plain, I am a bisexual man. I did not find it within my morals to watch one minute of any World Cup hosted by those who would not accept me as me.
I live my morals. It's all I have.
