“I’ve told my team to keep me away from the noise”, then goes on to rant about the noise he’s been told about by his team with people discussing who’s been spotted in Ipswich.

Just to add to the noise, heard from mate at ManU that OGS turned down Wolves job, and is discussing backroom staff he’d like to hire from United.

He just has this innate ability to make himself the centre of everything. Like a toxic relationship it’s an attempt to make you think you can’t survive without him. Then you wake up a few years later and realise it was all a trick and you’ve lost touch with your real friends. Or have signed Akpom for £7 million and have GON as manager.

I’m am getting sick of hearing him speak. Will try and avoid it from now on.

He's crashing out big time - I hope he's alright.

It's nearly 4 weeks now without a manager

But until the manager is in place - he is the centre of everything.

I think by 'noise' he pretty clearly means fan/ industry sentiment on the capability of certain candidates, not wether or not Solskjaer has been in Ipswich!

No, that's the direct quote

"My team will tell me some of the ridiculous things that people have put out, this person’s been seen in Ipswich, that person. It’s rubbish and I don’t think it’s right to the fanbase that people do that.

I’ve said that with players before. It’s games, people are just playing games and it’s not right. I know that because I know where the people are because I’m the one having the meetings and I’ve not had the meeting in Ipswich. It’s utter ridiculousness."

There’s a way he speaks about it though that isn’t normal.

“We’re working really hard as a club. We’re aware we need to move quickly but we know how important it is and we’re going to engage in a through process” for example would be a quote which doesn’t put himself at the centre. That doesn’t talk about HIS team or keeping HIM away from
The noise like he’s a delicate genius.

the point is that bigger men would refer to the team, not have to remind everyone else (and himself) that it's HIS!

Agreed on this, when talking about the people who I’m responsible for at work, I say my team.

Not Ashtons biggest fan but feel like people are just seeing what they want to see there.

It’s a symptom of a clear character flaw. And it comes out every time he speaks. It is going to cost the club. Maybe not now or maybe not tomorrow but at some point.

And Maybe he would be more insulted from the noise if there was a chairman.

I manage a fairly big team but try to avoid a "my" team when in conversation. The team, our team or the wider team, are far more inclusive and avoid any implied narcissism.

Some people love to over analyse every last word he says. Looking for something to criticise.
If he didn't say anything, the same people would be moaning about the lack of news.

In isolation it’s fine. But there’s something every single time he speaks.

You can’t even nail it down with the quotes. It’s just an attitude and a vibe of just loving being the centre of attention.

It's cost us already. Our recruitment has been utterly appalling and is no surprise we are struggling to attract a boss which is astonishing considering we are in the Prem

One that I’m almost 100% certain he’ll bring with him is Mark Dempsey, who’s followed OGS at every club he’s been at - bar Beskitas I think.

Currently back at United in a youth team capacity, so one which should be relatively straightforward to appoint.

Our recruitment has been utterly appalling... despite 3 promotions in 4 years.

Also, where's your evidence "we are struggling to attract a boss"?

Do you think it's OGS? Or just saying if it is him he would likely bring Dempsey?

The EADT report that it will be OGS or GON. I’d suggest that means we’ve struggled to attract a boss.

If it turns out to be wrong then I’ll reassess.

And yes I’d say we’ve achieved three promotions despite our recruitment. I’d say mediocre rather than appalling.
