| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? 11:08 - Jun 23 with 1560 views | hype313 | I believe this is what Walts had a few years back in pre-season, might be wrong. First steps in the morning are awful, but eases throughout the day, but would like this to go away quickly, anyone else had similar and recommend treatment? | |

| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 11:13 - Jun 23 with 1522 views | BondiBlue | Yep. Orthotics expensive so didn't bother. Went away eventually. Avoid new runners/footy boots or if you really need them, wear them in properly. Buy asics for runners or any shoe that fits you properly. | |

| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 11:14 - Jun 23 with 1515 views | PrideOfTheEast | I've had it a couple of times. Rolling a tennis ball works for me, as well as fairly aggressive pressure applied to the area. Both times mine has gone away after a week or so. I wear insoles to prevent it coming back which is annoying. Insoles are available on Amazon etc. No idea where it came from but curious as to whether anyone has found a solution to permanently solve it. | | | |
| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 11:18 - Jun 23 with 1479 views | mikeybloo88 | Don’t wear flat shoes, and either get some arched insoles or Skechers Arch Fit. Stretch out your hammy and especially your calf muscles regularly during the day... I got over mine in a few weeks doing this and it’s never come back. | | | |
| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 11:20 - Jun 23 with 1476 views | EdwardStone | Yes, I had this a few years ago.... very painful. I invested in a " torture sock " a hideous device that pulls and stretches your foot tendons as you sleep.... it was about 30 quid from ebay and killed it off in a week https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/193 Skechers shoes helped me a lot afterwards, but they do divide opinion Good luck with it [Post edited 23 Jun 13:45]

| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 11:23 - Jun 23 with 1454 views | IndependentlyBlue | Had it a couple of times, several years apart. Despite the cost I have to say orthotic insoles worked for me both times. Feels a bit weird wearing them to begin with but soon get used to them. Bluddy painful condition though buh, so cost was worth it as far as I was concerned Used to be known as policeman’s heel | |

From what I've learnt this morning, is that it can stem from your glutes, down to your calf, then achilles into your foot, so the pain in the heel can be from in injuring another part of the leg. Now need Poirot to identify the are of weakness.

| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 11:45 - Jun 23 with 1379 views | CaptMickMills | I've had it a few times over the years. Can be very painful. Had physio which helped to a degree. Exercise that seemed to help is standing on first stair and dipping down and raising up slowly on your heels. What made a huge difference was some insoles that I bought. Unfortunately can't get those exact ones any more. Search for insoles for Planter Facitis. Might be trial and error re which ones make a difference. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 11:55 - Jun 23 with 1344 views | Daninthecampo | It's usually caused by overuse, bad shoes or an issue in another part of your body Rolling a ball under your foot helps, golf balls are better than tennis as they're harder, But I use a mini foot roller(like a normal foam roller) this can also be put in the freezer for extra relief( I got it from Decathlon i think) Orthotics are the best long term solution but that means you need a physio to diagnose the actual issue, so they can be made specifically for you. Take lots of strong anti inflammatories | | | |
| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 11:56 - Jun 23 with 1335 views | leeipsw | Solved it with orthotics https://www.physique.co.uk/Bra They are expensive but last two years before need new pair also need strengthen calves as plantar takes strain if got weak calves or injured them normally caused by flat feet which orthotics help with | | | |
| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 11:58 - Jun 23 with 1326 views | Vaughan8 | I've had it recently and even had to walk around Orlando with it...........Not recommended! I got a cooling foot wrap thing (basically like a cooling mat, but it wraps around your foot. Roll a ball on your sole/heel and I had a massage gun to lightly massage it - it bl00dy hurt! I got various insoles for my shoes which seemed to help. I got monthly massages on my calves as that seemed to be the original source of the problem but obviously everyone is different. Also he gave me gym exercises to strengthen the calf muscle too. Thankfully, it seems to have gone. I went to Chessington WOA the other weekend, walked a load and it didn't hurt.... *Fingers crossed* [Post edited 23 Jun 12:00]

| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 11:59 - Jun 23 with 1323 views | EggChasingTractor | Ultra runner here... can confirm that PF injury from a tear or as an overuse injury is extremely painful and debilitating... here are my go to techniques to ease the pain and prevent. 1. Pain relief: get a water bottle (like a volvic or evian one - the thin plastic ones not a thick reusable one) fill it 75% with water and put it in the freezer. Use the frozen bottle as a foot roller. Good pain relief and will also strengthen the foot. 2. Repair: get a foot roller, a hockey ball (better than a tennis ball as it's harder) and use as a foot roller... do this a lot. I keep one under my desk and use it all the time. 3. Prevent: the root cause of PF problems is often a lack of strength in calf muscles. Do regular stretches or include in your workouts to build strength and prevent future injury. I like heel drops and calf raises. hope that helps [Post edited 23 Jun 12:05]

| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 12:01 - Jun 23 with 1307 views | John_Warks_Willy | Yes. Stretching and easing back drastically on pace for a long period (months) did the trick. Still a recurring problem to some degree so a def weak spot now. | |

| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 12:01 - Jun 23 with 1297 views | Xatticus | I've had it since I was around 20 years of age. I learned to live with it by ignoring it, which was a mistake as I eventually ruptured the plantar fascia in both feet. The causes can be complex. Ideally, you want to see a specialist, get orthotics to support your feet, and do physical therapy. You also want good, supportive shoes. Physical therapy will involve exercises that strengthen the muscles in your feet and a lot of stretching as systemic tightness is often the culprit. You want to stretch your legs several times per day, especially your calves. You also want to work on your hip flexors. Yoga straps are great for stretching. To avoid the pain in the morning, you want to dorsiflex your ankles before you get out of bed. You can freeze bottles of water and then use those to roll your feet on for the inlammation, but you still want to deal with the underlying cause. It should be easy to find some good videos for all of this on youtube. Don't ignore it as it can progress and get much worse. | | | |
| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 12:15 - Jun 23 with 1208 views | Gogs | Yes, still got it but learnt to live with it. As you say first steps are often agony, it does go away during the day though. Stepprs inserts and a massage roller are the best things I've found for it as it's never really gone away for me, let alone gone away quickly. Cheaper, equally effective versions available on Temu for a fraction of the price if you're that way inclined, I expect they are exactly the same, certainly didn't notice any difference between them personally https://stepprs.com/products/p | | | |
| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 13:18 - Jun 23 with 1035 views | USA | I fixed my issues entirely with £16 support insoles from Boots. I subsequently found 3/4 ones on Amazon for around £8. I have about 5 pais in each of my shoes, to save swapping them about etc. In the short term roll your foot on a bottle that full of water and been frozen to relieve pain. | |

It is also usually a lot worse if the person is overweight.

| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 14:14 - Jun 23 with 945 views | BloomBlue | It's all caused by the now standard situation of everyone wearing flat shoes. Go back to formal leather shoes with a heal and that will correct all foot problems Even the Romans worked out the importance of a heal over 2000 years ago. [Post edited 23 Jun 14:15]

| Anyone had Planter Facitis injury? on 15:08 - Jun 23 with 864 views | Ryorry | Yes, from traversing rough ground with shedloadsa big stones, tree roots etc. These specialist insoles sorted it out, but took 6 weeks, so other solutions on thread might be quicker. No longer available from the jungle, but you might be able to find elsewhere - https://www.amazon.co.uk/store | |

Sorry, but people should *not* routinely take "lots of strong anti inflammatories" without medical consultation - they can mask the problem and cause potentially long-term gastrointestinal damage.
